(31 Aug 2019, 9:30 pm)Michael wrote Only 7 Versa's, PVR for the 35 is 8... shame because i think the Scania's would be better as spares etc...

Those 2009 Versas are only Euro 4, so no good for the 35 (as every board has at least one journey which is secured as Euro 5).

The 35 will now be operated by Mercedes Citaros on Sundays, as many fleet livery as possible followed by the remaining Wear Xpress examples yet to be painted after that. This reduces the mileage operated by these Scanias, and aims to improve reliability on Sundays.

Ah right, shame, would of thought the Scania's would of gone!

Apart from the movements which have already kindly been post by Stanleyone and Citaro5326, have anymore happened?

The 12/97 are also Citaros today, meaning that the only Scania L94UBs out are on the Loop 93/94.

Sad that the Scania's are getting used less and less but understand from a mileage point of view... getting closer to being withdrawn now

And reliability, comfort and possibly MPG?

My love (?!) of them is well documented and I've been of the opinion that they should have gone years ago.

A few Sundays off shouldn't affect their mileage too much.

It's not as if those Scania lumps have got much of a life beyond GNE.

Same, the Scania's have always been decent, well apart from a few now.

So what will be used on the 35 going forward Monday to Saturday once the Scanias are withdrawn?

Streetlites from the Red Kite.

Citaro's - depends, if any of the current Citaro routes gets B9's as a cascade.

5409-5420, 5440 & 5441 at Consett, latter 3 I would imagine will release 3 double decks off the RK for scholars work.

St Bedes require 11 double Deckers, 2 of which work on to Service work.

6915, 6916, 6917, 6918, 6919 and 6932 are dedicated to scholars, taxi and V11

Thanks for the info

Presumably that’s why there is a Versa on the 57 today

Riverside are allocated 35 Citaro to meet a PVR of 26 Citaro on Sundays - more than achievable without the use of any other vehicle types!

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2019
Just walked past CLS, spotted one ex-London Gemini, 3964 and another GNE Gemini, guessing these are from deptford
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2019
Could the Streetlites not go as follows

11x ex Red Kite Streetlites + 3x ex PB Streetlites

- 8x for 58
- 5x for 12/12A
- 1x spare

Then.................
- 8x Versas + another sourced for 93/94
- 4x Mercs for the 6 (or 5x if frequency goes back to every 30 mins whole route)

I don't think however that the 93/94 will become a double deck operation. Versas would be most suited to this route.

The 6 needs Double Decker vehicles as they are regularly busy on the Tyne and Wear section of the route...

Wouldn’t surprise me if the Mercs currently on the X30 end up on the 6 when the E400s arrive.

Tbh, I'm still expecting them to appear on the X lines in a few months time.

It was the same with when they came last year and still 6918 made it's regular service debut on the 15th September on the 57 and 6923 on the 97A on the 5th October and since thise 2 first had those ventures riverside always seemed to have them out at the end of last year/start of this year and 6916 even found it's way onto the X66 in December.

And Depford's dual doors appear loads on the 56

So I imagine consent will do the same this year

6911 & 6914 have tracked on 34/34A this morning as well. Think Chester were9to receive 3941/42/62/63/64/65 plus 6910-14 in the swap round this weekend.
