I reckon it's back but it could be going in new repaint then repairs for breaks and then it could be back on the road good as new

The upcoming service changes could see a couple of them withdrawn, perhaps (or at least re-located to allow for MAN ALX300 replacement?)

The frequency reductions of most services from 10 minutes to 12 minutes, except the 3, should allow this (as well as others such as the three Scanias on the X24).

I’ve never really got why those three routes are grouped any more than with the 4 or others given how little crossover there really is.  South of the river the 3 shares virtually no common route with the 12, and only New Durham Road and Allendale Road with the 13. Even North of the river the only route they share that is ‘unique’ is North Hylton Road/Washington Road (from where they lose the 4 & 16 at Beaumont Street).  The 12 and 13 yes, but the 3 is pretty separate imo.

There isn't much crossing at all - only the parts u mentioned.

3 won't drop either, because its a 20 minute to Gilley Law and 20 minutes to Farringdon but i find the Gilley Law part, pointless, when they have the 13 - does that area require a 10 minute service?

Would work better if the 3 was just fully 12 minutes to Farringdon, new PVR would be 7.

The 3 having two different termini at the southern end is ridiculous and always has been.  What was wrong with 2 to Farringdon and 3 to Gilley Law!

Still would follow the same route but just streamline them:

3 - Hylton Castle - Southwick - Sunderland - Farringdon - every 12 minutes

12 - Town End Farm - Southwick - Sunderland - Doxford Park - every 20 minutes

13 - Town End Farm - Southwick - Sunderland  - Gilley Law - Doxford Park - every 20 minutes

----

(Confirmed)

4: Downhill - Southwick - Sunderland - Barnes Park - Springwell - Thorney Close - every 12 minutes

22: Dene Estate - Sunderland - Barnes Park - Doxford Park - every 12 minutes

16 - Same route as now - but looks to be dropping to every 12 minutes

4: 7 PVR (was 10)
16: 8 PVR (was 10)
23 to 22: 7 PVR (was 8 PVR)

I wonder if these ADL E200s will be the first to receive the new livery, as the ones being swapped will need to have the "Sunderland Bus" branding removed.

Will South Shields 36478-9 be getting swapped, or will they be staying at South Shields?

Will 39724 be getting repaired?

AIG20 Do you Know what will replace 36478/9 if they are leaving to go somewhere else. Yours Robin
RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - February 2020
With the South Shields Service changes coming up with 17/18 going every 12 minutes does that mean they interwork with 3/4/7/8

They will remain South Shields.

So far, the majority of the Sprinters are showing on Bus Times apart from 44032/6/7.

As such, the following have been showing in the following Zones:
T1 (Redcar & Cleveland): 44035
T2 (Hartlepool): 44017, 44033 (based out of Hartlepool depot)
T3 (Stockton and Darlington): 44005, 44031, 44034

44006 has been showing up as spare for Hartlepool zone, 44015 showing as in Stockton depot as spare

Saw 44005 in Stockton High Street yesterday on the "T4"

I’ve always said this makes no sense at all. But that’s stagecoach for you making stupid decisions.

That's quite interesting to read if that is what was observed. As the Tees Flex zones are; 'H' for the Hartlepool area, 'T' for the Tees Valley area and 'R' for Redcar & Cleveland area - with the identification number (1-4) the duty number of the driver. These are all programmed into the blinds, so perhaps its gone a bit off-piste. Had a feeling the 'T' might be misconstrued for 'Tees Flex' by the driver.

I'm not sure on numbers, but about 10 does seem to cover 32/32A, 35 and 71s. For LEZ, it would depend on further grants and funding - would of thought Nexus would of asked for Euro 6 by now... so could lead to something.

Not mentioned, 11502 arrived back from Inverness last Saturday and 22412 is on loan to Walkergate.

Sunderland has been downgraded quite a lot, and services such as the X24/34/Es are suffering with the old MANs making daily appearances...

S830OFT will Shields depot ever get the x34/E’s back in the future if Sunderland is down graded.

It will be highly unlikely that Sunderland will be downgraded, there been looking to have the E services at Sunderland for long time since the Busways era

Somehow I don’t think SNE will downgrade Sunderland. Firstly, it’s their  regional HQ; secondly, the depot is huge compared to SS. It makes sense for Sunderland to run the E’s and the x34 which could interwork with the x24. Returning the 30 and x20 makes sense though. The 30’s days must be numbered IMO.
RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - February 2020
I wouldn’t be to worried if Sunderland was getting cast offs. I image all the man e200s will be replaced over next couple of investment orders. That way it spreads the investment around rather than be focussed on one city. Let’s not forget Sunderland also acquired some decent vehicles from South Shields so works both ways
