X9 | X10 - Acquisition of interdeck coaches from Oxford Bus Company

(18 Aug 2020, 10:38 am)mb134 wrote Without massively changing the structure of the vehicle you can't really do that. Note this picture below, you'd have to remove 1-2 of those seats behind the cab in the first place to even think about putting in more seating - and that's without taking into account that the floor of the upstairs is raised above the cab/accessible seating area, so any space behind that (i.e where the luggage space is) is nowhere near big enough to consider seating (2nd link).

I don't mind the purple on the front, it's so you can recognise what X-Lines it is from the front. The light surrounds should be back though imo, the Streetdecks are the same, the Enviro's look much better with it.

Streetdeck with the black (looks better imo) - https://lessavine.co.uk/wp-content/uploa...1545846804

Yea the DD have the Xline colour beside the destination display. Might look odd there on the coaches

Not sure if it's going to be similar to generic skyline. From the artwork, deffo looks like transporter bridge is incorporated
RE: X9 | X10 - Acquisition of interdeck coaches from Oxford Bus Company
Coaches expected to arrive at the back of September now, so ex national express coaches will go on the X9/X10 until they arrive - B11 coaches.

Martijn confirmed in his live update tonight.

Levantes have been out training on X9/X10 this week ahead of them taking over service next week. Presume this is a stop gap until the Elites are ready. Frees up DDs for school work

Trying to work out how many cherished plates exist in the GNE fleet and if there's any chance of the Elites picking these up when they move north.

They could do what Oxford did and acquire some branded for the X9/X10, although I'd imagine it'd cost them a penny or two and it'd only work if they managed to score 7 'matching' plates

'X10 GNE' is actually already owned by a Riverside driver, but it (allegedly!) doesn't have anything to do with the X10, or Go North East!

Dan has shared photos on Twitter of the temporary livery to be used on the X9|X10 until the 'new' (which are actually older than even the temporary ones Tongue) coaches arrive.
Do look rather smart IMO, I actually like it over the gold one, I think there's just too much gold, whereas this is nice and simple

So am I, I was in the middle of a conference call, and as usual it could have simply been done by an email rather than wasting an hour of my time.

My camera is 'broken' so I don't even have it on. I was just sitting in bed because it's far too hot in the office. I've had the windows open since February and I don't think it's dropped below 26c.

I wonder how much the temporary vinyl cost them, I'm sure it's a lot bigger than it looks

The negative comments on these coaches which haven't even entered service show the state of our society. I'm sure some of the people moaning actually have no real concerns.

People seem to love whinging about change before they give things a chance, whether it’s the switch to coaches, or a change to road layouts for example. Most of the time I reckon they do it for the likes or attention or to try & be funny or they just have nothing better to do. It must be so tiring being negative & miserable about everything. Leave em to it.

How can they moan? They only seat 5 less than a StreetDeck with tables...... And they'll be a hell of a lot more reliable than a standard double deck bus!
