6087, 6088, 6089 and 6090 have all been taken out of service for repaint/refurbishment.

3943 has transferred in from Washington to replace one, 6048/84 from Riverside to replace two, and 5415 from Riverside to replace the last (with the double-deck board on service 55 reverting back to a single-deck allocation).

Are they just getting the same done to them as the Crusader B9s?

Any of 6085-6098 due to come back with a "shade" of green perhaps?

Sure they'll have a green leaf which they like using lately for their green credentials (Euro 6) somewhere.

6084 has yet to go down, and is still in Fab 56 livery, so I would imagine, these are for the 56 again, only reason is because 6084 has yet to go - unless its getting done as a spare.

Maybe 6084 if they increase PVR of the 10 if current consultation gets approval

You missed the point he was making - the real question he was asking was ‘Will any of these buses be painted in the green variant of the Xlines livery to allow replacement of the Red Kite branded Volvo B9s?’

Years ago! Wasnt it when PVR of 56 was first reduced to 14 vehicles instead of 15?

Isn't there those Streetdecks from Arriva, which were meant to go to Leeds but didn't happen........ that could be a thing.

Fab 56 PVR History:
- 2013/14 = 15x - Every 10 minutes
- Jan 2015 = 14x Every 12 minutes
- Jan 2019 = 13x Every 12 minutes (terminus change)
- 2020 = 11x Every 15 minutes

Doubt it. They'd need re-done to X-Lines standard and by the time the cost was added on, it would make sense to buy new ones.

But it might go back up to every 12 minutes in the new year, we might not of seen all the registrations on VOSA yet... the plans might be in place.

RE: Fleet Refurbishment
Well, my prediction is that some B9TL's will no doubt end up at Consett as there's no way that the PVR and spare ratio can be made up without taking more StreetDecks from Chester (unlikely to move).

Also, no registrations have been made to change the X30/X31 or X70/X71. Perhaps a change to the X45/X46/X47 will be enough to allow new interworking patterns for the X45/X46/X47 as well as X30/X70/X71

Guess 1:
- 9x new ADL E400MMC X30/X70/X71
- 2x new ADL E400MMC spare
- 3x 2019 ADL E400MMC (no bikes) X45/X46/X47
- 8x new StreetDeck X45/X46/X47
- 3x 2017 StreetDeck X45/X46/X47
- 3x 2014 Volvo B9TL X31*
- 1x 2014 Volvo B9TL spare*

*Could the X31 move to Chester Le Street (if still terminated at Stanley) given the 78 went the other way? Also, that would keep some commonality to an extent given Chester Le Street also have Volvo B5TLs.

Guess 2:
- 9x new ADL E400MMC X30/X70/X71
- 2x new ADL E400MMC spare
- 3x 2019 ADL E400MMC X31 (bike mods retrofitted?)
- 8x new StreetDeck X45/X46/X47
- 3x 2017 StreetDeck X45/X46/X47
- 3x 2014 Volvo B9TL X45/X46/X47
- 1x 2014 Volvo B9TL spare

Not sure what your infatuation is with Consett and B9s. As you'll be aware Consett has 4 15 plate B9s, so why the need to refurbish older B9s and place on routes currently served by younger B9s?. Not much longer now to find out what's happening with allocations for the Xlines routes and all other timetable changes for that matter.

But the ex dealer stock vehicles would need more work done to bring them up to X-Lines standard.

The Fab 56 batch already have high back seating installed.

Hope the manufacturer got some compensation from Arriva of making these buses into Arriva specifications if Arriva did cancel the order, as it would be a lot harder to sell these new buses with Arriva logo all over the inside

From looking at the photos, all that really needs changed is the headrests covers (and going from other Arriva buses, the wheelchair ramp flooring). Sure, it's in Arriva colours, but nothing else seems to be branded.

Plus, £200k seems to be around 10% off retail so even reupholstering the seats completely would still make them a good deal, supposing you were in the market for 7 Low Height StreetDecks.

Only thing with Arriva branding is the staircase glazing. Everything else carries a generically printed "Sapphire" wordmark, from the 2017 logo.

Smaller operators who aren't as brand conscious will probably get away with not changing anything. Plenty have got by with Stagecoach and GNE logos on their seats!

And not forgetting that the current Fab 56 examples are Euro 6 whereas 6118-21 are only Euro 5.
RE: Fleet Refurbishment
From the GNE site:

Following the completion of the repaints on the “Saltwell Park” branded Wright Streetlites, Wright Streetlite DF/Wright Streetlite Max Micro-Hybrid 5415 (NK15 EOF) has transferred from Riverside to Deptford. Similar 5416 (NK15 EOG) and 5417 (NK15 EOH) have both been formally allocated to Riverside (previously float/reserve), displacing Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 6048 (NK12 GCZ) and 6084 (NL63 XBS) to Deptford. These three buses, as well as Volvo B7TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 3943 (NK05 GZR) which transferred to Deptford last week, will provide cover whilst Deptford’s “Fab Fifty Six” branded Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 2s undergo repaint and refurbishment. The examples taken out of service thus far include 6087 (NL63 YHP), 6088 (NL63 YHR), 6089 (NL63 YHS) and 6090 (NL63 YHT).

Wonder if this confirms, they'll stay on the 56.

You do realise the Euro 6 mods paid by the council aren't just a free giveaway for GNE to spend whatever they want on right? The buses will have been agreed in advance on what route they're running on so you can't just move buses around for the sake it.

6100 - 6117 are on the 309/10/11 for the forseeable future and I'm guessing 5385 - 5388 on the Q3 as they're the buses done from the NT pot see https://my.northtyneside.gov.uk/sites/de...port_0.pdf.

There's similar ones for Arriva and Stagecoach aswell believe they're the 51, 306, 308 and 38 off the top of my head. Similar contracts will have been done for the B9TL's at Riverside, Deptford and Hexham some of which will be agreed for the 10, 27 and 56. They can't just be sent off to Consett now otherwise they'll be breaking the back to back contract which is mentioned in there.
