According to BusTimes:

Connections 4 branded 5359 on the last X10 tonight (replacement for 7155 which must've encountered problems as it pulled off A19, went to Washington depot, got to Shiney Row and after 10 mins turned round and headed back to Washington depot): https://bustimes.org/services/x10-newcas.../201744740

From what I heard, there wasn't much standing room in Eldon Square earlier this evening!
They were just the people trying to get a bus.

I was on one, and for a limited time there was 5 people sitting top deck.

When we were at Washington Galleries the line was stretching to the 8 to Stanley Stand, and he left a tonne of people (atleast 20 maybe 30) we came into Newcastle 30 mins late.

A double-deck should have been allocated, but an assumption was made by JH that there was a low bridge on the route of the 26 (which the same bus later worked), so they ran single-decks instead of doubles - which Go North East discovered when the photos went on social media, and immediately followed up with JH.

Frustrating on a match day, and no doubt another two steps back in terms of customer confidence, but it won’t happen again.

Yes, but JH Coaches assumed differently hence the single-decks yesterday.

Yes rather unfortunate, imagine with all the current stresses involved in planning nobody thought to double check they’d allocate a decker but as you say…how many punters are already thinking taxi or a lift in for next time
Wistfully stuck in the 90s

723 is Washington depot I believe? Any ideas why it would be in Slatyford? (nothing on bustimes.org). This was at Hexham when it was branded for Tynedale Links, maybe transferring back?

Could someone advise if Hexham depot is worth a visit? Riverside has loads of buses parked up, I've never seen any other GNE depots.

Thanks, Dan. Makes sense. Does it have a set route/time? Surprised to see it this afternoon in Slatyford, gutted I didn't get a video!

5304 - Thought it was wrong, thought it was the ticket machine but its not

How on earth has it ended up at HEXHAM

Rare working of the Year.

Indeed - 5304 being a former Hexham-based Citaro.

5232 represents the Scania L94 age of the route (duplicate), 5304 represents the previous allocation (in service) and 6336/37 represent the current allocation (in service).

Both 5304 and 6336 have transferred on loan for the day.

Idk if they are low floor. They're definitely not as low as the 69/20/70 plate ones
