Go North East: Former Fleet Members Living On

RE: Go North East: Former Fleet Members Living On
I've seen it reported elsewhere that S828OFT, originally 3828 and latterly Stagecoach West's 16259, has apparently been bought by a driver with SC West. I've not managed to find out any plans for the vehicle as yet. Hopefully the new owner will select a suitably heritage livery for his acquisition!

Two directly from Go North East (5211 and 5223), three which had been loaned from East Yorkshire (5226, 5231, 5232).

The five B7s which were on loan to Go Cornwall Bus have now been returned to East Yorkshire as a result. They were not used during their time at Go Cornwall Bus due to the pandemic.

Planning a bash on the bus and rail network in Wales and I came across a few independents who had gone the journey for one reason or another.

One of the operators which went bust 4 or 5 years ago had some ex-NE based vehicles.

Will be interesting to do some more digging to see which ones are still going.

No clue how many there are with a NE connection, the only one really jumping out at me atm is Solo T789KNW which spent a short amount of time at Scarlet Band before going to GHA.

Still quite a few of the ex GNE MPDs kicking around, saw a pic of ex 511 / X511WRG still in service with Regent Coaches down in the South East recently. When I had a trip to Cornwall in October I found ex 541 & 603 in St Ives
541 / NA52AXF - St Ives Minibus Services: https://flic.kr/p/2jWCqbz
603 / NK54NTX - Royal Buses: https://flic.kr/p/2k5GC4X

Coincidentally I am doing much the same type of trips to Wales in the summer with a mix of bus & rail.

Aye, there's the Solo. There was also the Rxxx PRG B10's on the list. 5 or 6 from recollection and Marshall Dart 8115 (?)

The Welsh network is really appealing to me at the moment. Saw a bit of it a few years back, but not as much as I would have liked. Including the Gerald, which is on the 'must do' list.

Reserecting a long lost thread here!

Did any of the GNE Cadets/Merits survive and move on or did they end up in the great big scrap yard in the sky?

A Line don't have a Renown

It's Dan Annis preserved Volvo B10BLE Wright Renown X922 WGR

It does work when they need a bus

Technically yes it is A-Line's renown as 4922 was theirs until Dan got it. and it does some services here and there. hence why its 'semi-preserved' as it is a preserved vehicle whilst Dan or other A-Line drivers take it out.

I appreciate this is perhaps not the right thread, but I couldn't find a more suitable one and I don't think it really deserves its own.

On Saturday (and the Saturday before that), I went through Philadelphia and passed this building, which appeared to have an ex-GNE Olympian in it; it was in Yellow Buses livery whatever it was.

Anyone know anything about this, or can point me in the right direction to get more info on it? It's certainly peaked my curiosity.

Speedyhire were the last to have that building from memory. No idea if they've still got it or not. Prior to that, I always remember a goat being tethered up behind the fence.

Ironically, the old people's home on the opposite side (site of the old school up the hill), has (or had) an old Nexus pipes era bus stop in the back garden for a long time.

Was just thinking that with all the planned development around there, I've no idea how long (whoever is renting the space - obviously we now know), would be there.

Cadet 8257 is currently at Ensign alongside a variety of Solo's, all received from Go South Coast. Merit 8262 is a training vehicle, carrying reg D6LTS.
