YOu could probs go around the back through the trees. Where the pub is.

There are probs there to displace all the OmniDekkas other than the Voyager ones.

I wonder if the 57' will get any engine updates as the Gemini's are Euro 5 & Voyagers Euro 4.

But all the G1's are Euro 4 afaik

And then replacing the older Omnidekka's ect.

When is the Metro Replacement Control anyway

The Metro Flow Project will see most of the South Shields line closed for a period of time. They’d be good for that.

Would be nice if there’s enough to get rid of all the Omnideckers and Gemini 1s, (including Voyager examples).
They look just look old inside and out.

They need 22 iirc
RE: Ex London Enviro 400's to GNE
They seem to be getting a mixture of Enviro 400s. Think E65 along with E64 were the oldest of them (57 plates), the rest seem to be 08 / 09 plates. Two that came up recently are in original Go-Ahead London livery with the charcoal grey skirt as portrayed by E65 at Metrocentre today. There is another (E64 I assume) in GAL original livery and an all red one in Saltmeadows facing away from the gate.

Dan can you provide us with a list of registrations and possible fleetnumbers for those who keep their own records please.

Who needs heroes anyway? Villians have more fun.

From what I have heard today there is 15 of them coming up to be used on Tyne & Wear Metro Replacement between Heworth and South Shields to allow for the duplication lines to be put in place at certain points where they are needed, No confirmation if these E400's are permanent additions to the fleet.

So then the other 7 needed (not sure about the spares) will be covered by JH & Stanley iirc

Any further updates or recent photos of these?

Looks like the one that attended the Open Day/Metrocentre Rally is parked up at the back of Riverside.

Agreed. Even Stagecoach North East have done it on all their repaints and their vehicles look more better for it.

What about the odd coloured piece of panel? I've always said it looks like they've borrowed a spare and with that Merc missing one behind...

This is very true, however still looks better on this than the omnidekka....and the sexy purple v-line on the X10 coaches

I think it looks better on an E400 than anything else I’ve seen it on, though I did think it looked odd on the Scanias it was trialled on. As much as it’s an improvement on the overall red, for me this isn’t a strong enough fleet wide livery.

Retaining the centre doors has the bonus of cost saving over removing them, a more open airy lower saloon and faster dwell times at stops - especially handy for mass exiting on Metro replacement & scholars services.
