The first vehicle painted into the new Sheffield livery is B9TL/Wright Gemini 2 36257 (BD12 TCO) - which has also been internally retrimmed.

Is that a dark blue variant of the moquette that GNE/EY are using?

The first vehicle repainted into a version of First's Olympia 2 livery under the banner of 'Doncaster's Red Buses' is Streetlite 63129 (SN14 DVZ) - compared to the majority of the Olympia 2 wedge liveries, this contains an additional purple 'road stripe' with white edging evoking the traditional 'Doncaster Corporation' livery as worn by B9TL 37230

The first single decker into the new Sheffield livery is ex-Manchester Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse Urban 2 69525 - while the deckers (as B9TL 37472 is also now repainted) have snooker balls as the rear slash of this livery (based off what is called 'Urban 2' in standard First colours), this has 'bass lines' with the tag line 'buses that look good on a dance floor' in refence to The Artic Monkeys. There are to be a number of variations to the livery, each highlighting one of Sheffield's famous links.

The first Doncaster bus to be painted into the originally-proposed 'Doncaster's Red Buses' livery is B9Tl/Gemini 2 36227 (BD12 TBU) - like the Sheffield livery, it includes the front cream 'wedge' with the addition of the Doncaster 'Purple' wedge

Came up with a few different adaptations of the "Rider Liveries" for potential expansion of the network to connect more areas of Yorkshire together.

Green for "West Rider" for potential services from York/Hull to Leeds/Keighley and Bradford in competition with Transdev CityZap/Yorkshire Coastliner/Aureline and First X6.
Blue for "South Rider" for potential services from York/Hull to Sheffield, Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham in competition with Stagecoach/First who operate in these areas.
Red for "North Rider" for potential services from York/Hull to Harrogate and Ripon in competition with Transdev York & Country services 22/23

Why do you think East Yorkshire will want to operate these sort of services in competition with the existing operators. e.g First York tried operating an X64 York to Leeds service in Spring 2009 that lasted until August 2010 in competition with Transdev, it was also the reason that CityZap was introduced. I would suggest East Yorkshire spends its resources improving its existing services in the East Riding rather than expanding in an exercise that cost lots of money and will probably do little for EY's income.

A more sensible suggestion for using the other points of the compass:
X5 Hull to Goole - West Rider (instead of East Rider)
121 Hull to Bridlington - North Rider
350 Hull to Scunthorpe - South Rider (although this would need Stagecoach's buy in as at present this service is operated jointly as the Humber Fastcat)

The Keighley Bus Company

Solo SRs 155-7 have been repainted out of Keighley Jets two-tone green into a new Cream/Green livery - 155/6 are branded 'Otley Dash' for the former 965 Otley Town service which from today is extended to Menston Railway Station in place of the 962. 157, along with newly acquired second hand examples 165 (YJ13 HJG) and 166 (KX64 AEC) ae branded for 'Wharfdale Links' for use on services 948 (Eccleshill Park Rd to Apperley Bridge Station - peak times only in one direction), 962 (Otley to Ilkley then Ilkley Town Circular) and 966 (Guiseley and Yeadon Circular).

As such, former 'Otley's 965' branded MPD 720 has now gained 'The Keighley Bus Company' branding with 'nah then, 'ow do......let's go up hill an' down dale' taglines to promote their operation of Dalesbus services 862 (Keighley to Ilkley - one direction AM and PM only), 873 (Ilkley to Skipton via Bolton Abbey and Embsay) and 884 (Ilkley to Skipton direct).

Rebranding as "Team Pennine" - which seems more like something you'd find on an internal memo than something you'd land on as the company name. Why not "The Pennine Bus Company" as with the rest of the Transdev operations, and refer to the staff as "Team Pennine", similar to "Team GNE".

Livery looks bog standard Best Impressions. Funnily enough when I first saw it, I thought "ah, Stagecoach/Arriva must be rebranding the 685". Think I actually prefer the Yorkshire Tiger livery, at least there was some imagination there.

It appears the North East isn't the only place that doesn't have congestion busting buses, not going to the places it's passengers need to be.

First West Yorkshire

Due for delivery shortly are 28 Wright Streetdecks numbered 35638-65 - unlike the previous batches, these are destined for Bradford depot alongside a number of new Wright Streetlites as part of the introduction of a Clean Air Zone in Bradford. These will introduce a new livery for the Bradford fleet - a two-tone Blue along similar lines to the Two-Tone Green used on 'Leeds City' fleet.

While Bradford gains new stock and a whole new-look livery, the fleet at Huddersfield and Halifax depots are also undergoing a minor brand refreshing - while not to the same level as Leeds and Bradford, the original-style Olympia livery is being replaced by the 'Olympia2' livery with coloured front adopted in other First fleets.
Huddersfield is seeing an expansion of the 'HD Connect' livery - first rolled out back in 2018 on services 370/371/372 (Lindley to Huddersfield then either Rawthorpe, Dalton or Almondbury).

Halifax meanwhile is gaining a similar variation called 'HX Connect' with a darker shade of blue in use. So far, 6 B7RLEs, 2 B9TLs and the former Halifax heritage livered B7TL have been repainted.

Purchased from Nottingham City Transport are 15 Enviro200s and an undisclosed number of Scania N230UD/Omnidekkas. So far confirmed to have made the move northwards are E200s 366/7/8/79 (YX13 AEG/J/K, BNY) and 383/4 (YX63 LHY/Z). 10 examples are destined for use in the Rosso-branded fleet (366/7/8/79 make up 4 of these 10) with the remaining 5 (including 383/4) will be joining the Team Pennine fleet.

It really is the political hot potato at the mo.
They may be calling it out for their own needs, but it's about time operators decisions and the impact it has - is called out and publicised.
The down side is that I'm not sure it will make any difference in the operators ivory towers - after all, they do know best.

Following the fire at Potters Bar depot, First York have grounded their fleet of Metrodecker EVs. As such a number of vehicles from within the West Yorkshire fleet are now on-loan to York until such a time that the Metrodeckers can be reinstated.

Confirmed so far are:
Leeds Streetdecks 35203 and 35510 plus B7RLE 66743
Halifax E400 33875/6 and B9TL 37500

A further 10 vehicles are on-loan - these are mainly tracking as Metrodeckers on Bus Times apart from one vehicle which is tracking as Wright Hybrid 39004. In addition, the Citaros are seeing increased usage - 11101 is tracking on 8s today while 11103-5 are making up the entire allocation on the 2 (recently, the 2 has been allocated 2 B7RLEs alongside a single Citaro).

More bus strikes in West Yorkshire tomorrow, this was posted by the mayor of the county:

Here is my statement following news that bus strikes will resume in some parts of the region tomorrow (Wednesday 13th July 2022):

“Like others, I found out about the resumption of the strike on social media just before 6pm this evening. To inform passengers at this late hour is incredibly disappointing and leaves people unable to make alternative plans.

“I am particularly concerned about passengers arriving at a bus stop tomorrow only to find out they have no means of transport, other than walking or getting a taxi.

“Communities across West Yorkshire need an urgent resolution to this dispute. With the potential for strike action to continue indefinitely, it seems sensible to invite ACAS in to help broker an agreement between Arriva and Unite for the benefit of bus users.

“I share the frustrations of those who will find getting to school or work difficult in the coming days. My powers to intervene in this dispute remain limited, as unlike London, services here are controlled by private operators. However, the free bus service I introduced between Wakefield and Pinderfields hospital will continue ensuring people can keep vital hospital appointments.”
