RE: Stagecoach North East - Latest
Reminder from tomorrow:

Eastbound Vine Place closure, affecting Services 3,4,5,5A,10,11,12,13,16,23,X1 Service Update
From Monday 20 January 2014, Vine Place in the City Centre will be temporarily closed to all eastbound traffic to facilitate roadworks by Sunderland City Council.

Last Updated : 10 January 2014 15:59

This eastbound closure is expected to be in place for around 10 weeks.

During the period of this eastbound closure, buses will be unable to observe their normal Vine Place bus stops, and will instead be required to divert via Stockton Road and Burdon Road, temporarily observing a bus stop near St.George’s Way on Stockton Road.

Buses will continue to be able to observe their normal Fawcett Street, Borough Road and Athenaeum Street stops.

Westbound buses will be unaffected by these roadworks, and so should be able to continue to use their normal westbound bus stops along Holmeside.

Clearly, whilst we will be endeavouring to operate all services through this area in accordance with their published timetables, as well as continuing to liaise with our colleagues at Sunderland City Council to mitigate any problems, there is nonetheless the potential that some trips may be subject to localised delays.

Stagecoach would like to apologise for any inconvenience these works by Sunderland City Council may cause, and we remain grateful for customers’ patience and understanding.

Those routes are worked commercially by Stagecoach apart from one or two individual journeys and so are not affected by this

28010 is currently out on road test. A number of the new gas buses have been road tested over the past few days, following a route up to Grangetown and back.

Just the 33, Stagecoach are going to continue to run the 32/32A and 35 commercially. The 15 is secured on a Saturday but otherwise commercial I believe.

(21 Jan 2014, 3:30 am)ADLEnviro wrote All 17 will be used over the next couple of weeks on driver familiarisation. On a further note the last of the batch was delivered to Walkergate on Friday last week so all 17 are now with Stagecoach North East, 16 at Sunderland and 1 at Walkergate.

It may be worth noting that now they are getting used they have more than delivery mileage on them so to keep everything legal a request for 14 registrations might be refused.

Indeed one was out again today. Up Stockton Road to Grangetown and back down to the depot via Hendon.

Not sure how often this happens but Volvo B10M trainer 20552 (P552 ESA) was used as the run around for the X34 driver changes at Horsley Hill this morning.

Usually Ford Fiesta 92984 (YK59 UGN) is used.

The only MANs I didn't see out one day earlier this month were 22011/5, 22063, 22193/5/201/8, 22657/69. Since then I've seen 22063, 22195 at least. I believe 22669 is away at least.

22669 is currently VOR at South Shields for engine work. The number you mentioned there is reasonable given Stockton's daily PVR is 69 (including School workings) with a daily allocation of 78 (plus 3 reverse B10BLEs).

The latest repaint at Stockton depot is 22204.

Edit: Kuyoyo beat me too it haha.

The latest fleet cards that I have access to (Period 9) show that:

22174, 22193, 22195, 22197, 22198, 22199, 22201, 22202, 22204, 22206, 22208, 22210, 22211, 22451, 22452, 22454, 22455, 22456, 22465, 22466, 22469, 22470, 22471, 22493, 22656, 22657, 22658, 22659, 22660, 22661, 22663, 22665, 22667, 22668, 22669, 22670, 22674

are all in service at Stockton, so there should be quite a few knocking around Teesside. 22669 has been receiving attention at South Shields recently, and it may still be there.

Nothing has transferred to Teesside to replace these older MANs and indeed the main MAN withdrawls this year will be from Sunderland when the Scania Enviro 300's enter service soon Smile.

Firstly, it's Teesside (2 S, Tees-side).

Secondly, as Stagecoach are likely aiming to replace the majority of the full-size non-DDA MANs this year, it's likely a large number of Stockton's will also bite the bullet, depending of course on what is ordered and for where and how many.
RE: Stagecoach North East - Latest
Hi does it mean that stagecoach on Teesside might get some new buses this year or will they get some 54/53 reg mans to replace old mans.

Not sure, more likely to be cascades from Sunderland etc when the gas buses enter service however not sure when that will be.

23 more gas buses are due to arrive at Sunderland by end of the year bringing the total to 40.
