I see Stagecoach Highlands tweeted today that they have on order another 40 vehicles to replace the entire fleets at Inverness, Aviemore and Tain.

Not surprised, some of their fleet is antique to be doing the work they're doing. I was up there last year and following one of their Enviro 300's and it sounded terrible. They're definitely not designed for doing long distance country runs which they do.

Give them credit for keeping the ex. Newcastle Enviro 400's in service though which do 40 miles on runs from Newtonmore to Inverness at high speed considering we locally can't keep some brand new buses on the A19 or Enviro's on the road pottering around Byker.

now that I've discovered the deliveries for 2023 E400MMCs and finding the disappointingly low number of only 11 new buses for north east I'm looking at where potential cascades could come from.

I'm surprised at chichester in stagecoach south getting allocated 22 new buses as i think they only have 22 double decks in there fleet, the newest of which are 69 plate 400 MMCs,i find it surprising one depot is getting its entire double decker fleet renewed in a single delivery, This could be down to nearby Portsmouth getting its own CAZ, and with stagecoach south having a lot of ALX400s, i can understand the necessity of replacing them even if they are very rural most of the time and passenger loadings only tend to be busy when the trains are off.

Stagecoach Highlands have recently received a batch of Volvo B8RLE MCV Evora's, aside from that nothing unless you want to count in Electric Buses which have been going into Stagecoach Scotland Fleets or Stagecoach London.

What was on the picture?

I was on 28022 this morning and the dashboard was all lit up, saying the engine was bust.

I remember someone mentioning it the other day too.

Edit:

Wonder what fleet nunber they'll take? 28041+

Don't really know the full Stagecoach fleet so not sure what numbers are free.

In order:
Not telling, cos it's fun watching the speculation (and also I don't want to look like a moron if they've changed their minds) Wink

When it says "Engine Malfunction" it generally means it's gone into limp mode at some point (some of them keep going into limp mode until the engine warms up then it's fine, although I've had a couple do it seemingly because of high revs. 005 did it to me on the Felling Bypass for seemingly no reason whilst I had about 50 people on, which wasn't terrifying at all) - I've had it clear itself before (although I was often turning the engine off cos of standing time). I've noticed little change in performance (although it seems to limit the kickdown on some).

They seem to be using the 29100-999 and 30000-999 ranges for EVs (29020-022 are E350Hs - presumably Hybrids). From Bustimes, the EVs elsewhere are numbered as follows:
29101-109; Guildford P&R 200EVs
29110-118; Perth 200EVs
29201-205; London 200EVs
29301-306; West Scotland 7900Es
30001-017; West Scotland 200EVs
30101-125; Inverness Yutongs
So based on that, I can see our's going in the 29400 or 30200 range.
28000 range is exclusively our gasbuses. The next one numerically after 28040 is 28602, which is a diesel Scania E300 - it looks identical to our's, just without the gas tank on top. That range continues 28748.

There was also a 28601 which seems to have suffered an accident at some point - 28xxx has been used twice in total for Scanias including the current gas (280xx) and diesel (286xx/287xx) series.

Also, 30016/17 are with East Midlands at Mansfield not West Scotland (with '16 off the road currently with fire damage)
