I wouldnt be surprised if it eventually merged with Stockton, probably somewhere in the Middlesbrough area, as that was rumoured a few years ago.

As far as I'm aware things are largely the same however about 3/4 Pulsars headed North to Ashington which were never replaced. Relying on 18 year old B7's is never a good idea either for one of the hardest routes in the North East.
The Solo's are just shot to bits, Ashington have 6 to operate a PVR of 4 again, assume 2830 has gone up to help release one of the Decker's, no doubt a full size bus will still be on again in a few days time. They all badly need to go.
(27 May 2023, 8:17 pm)tyresmoke wrote The 2 deckers aren’t additional as Pulsars 1433/39 have gone the other way. Additional capacity wise but no extra vehicles.
I would expect further loans to turn up though, things are in a bad way should we say at Redcar and Whitby

Even with 7575/76 today, they still struggled with single decks including 4704, 1435 & 1572 appearing on the X93, with 1564 later finding its way onto the X94 (amongst all sorts of swapping of buses around).
4704 broke down I got told out side whitby on its way back from Guisbrough

(27 May 2023, 10:00 pm)tyresmoke wrote Yep and that was with 2 63s, a 62 and at least one X4 missing, which given the reduced Saturday output tells you how bad things are at Redcar…Wait so with them all missing were the drivers just standing around getting paid with nothing todo, it seems dire
1435 was on the P2b board which is spare after about half 10 and inevitably gets used most days. 4704 ended up being dragged back home, presumably X93s was a step too far for it

(30 May 2023, 8:52 am)tvd wrote Does seem bad management to end up so short of buses at Redcar, when only last year Darlington got a load of new minibuses to release most of their Solos.
Surely a few of those displaced Solos, the half decent ones, could've been kept for spares?
Maybe I'm missing something and its not quite so simple, but having lots of services not run and drivers with no buses is a pretty bad situation.

(30 May 2023, 12:16 pm)mb134 wrote That said, it seems mental that they've just got 2 shiny MMCs that have been bulletproof for Ashington and are using one of them daily on the P1. Before the "but the X93 is hilly" comments come in, I was on 7575 the other week and it overtook a Solo comfortably up Whorral Bank out of Morpeth.Absolutely the opposite to be honest. It's good management when you understand why they are doing this.
The whole situation screams of poor local management.
