The ones intended for Stagecoach in Newcastle are 11770 - 11780.

In total there will be 24 new double deckers for Newcastle.

Has it confirmed what they're replacing?

Wouldnt surprise me if they took the 16 reg batch off the 62/63 and put them on the 12/22/38 then put some if not all of the 23 reg batch on the 62/63, but this of course is my THEORY not actual fact
Kind Regards

If they're going to send some to Sunderland to replace the gas buses they might not get rid of the worst buses from Newcastle if that's what people are hoping.

They're going to Walkergate according to the Stagecoach fleet lists and the 62/63 is based at Slatyford so can't see that.

I have a feeling the second batch will directly replace buses on either the 12 or 38 but this lot is unknown. They've blatantly been redirected to here to get arid of the gas buses from Sunderland. It won't be a co-incidence that there's 14 buses being redirected + the 20 electrics just happens to total the number of gas buses ignoring the few which have semi been withdrawn.

If I had to take a punt, I'll say it's the 60 Plate Enviro 400's and 27723 - 27725 which will end up going to Sunderland. They've gradually been moving the 60 plates out over the past few years and the rest of the 11 plates are already there. More singles could move out aswell tbh, there's absolutely no need for 14 singles for a PVR 5 as the 317 is the only single decker route at Walkergate.

If you’re going to make something up I’d suggest getting your source right, Colin is the Ops Director for the NE, Stocktons OM is MB.

I am hoping they stay. If they not needed at Stockton then it would make sense to send them to Hartlepool to improve the reliability as buses are breaking down all the time and don’t think the Manviro have much longer left as they are getting more unreliable by the day.

For the last time, Hartlepool won't be getting full size buses on long-term allocation.
Hopefully, at least some of the ALXs are revived when someone realised the real vehicles that should be stood down after these changes are the 275xx E300s - given 27508 has now been VOR for the best part of 4 years, and 27507 is also now dumped in the dead row after the weekend. None of the drivers like them and they have the turning circle of a cruise ship. Plus they are actually the oldest vehicles in the fleet left in front-line service.

I want doesn’t get. The 05 plates are past it, the now withdrawn 27507 declined massively last week to the point nobody would drive it, and the Euro6 conversion hasn’t done much good to 24101-24115.

Was told a long time ago by managers that the ALX would be eliminated with E300's and timetable changes. The early Enviro 300s were also to go. Laughable all the paint that has been splashed when it was known what the future held.

22581 yet to transfer and 24116/24121 not active should help eradicate the ALX once in service at Stockton

22581 VOR at Slatyford following me defecting it for its lack of retarder apparently engineering unable to work out why, once they do I’d expect 22581 to move down, whether 27178 comes the other way or not Is unknown.

Have to say Slaty did a hell of a job ressurecting 22581, 24116 and 36470!

I very much thought 24116 was dead never to return and that was only 3 weeks ago, they must’ve raided the spare parts bin to get it going.

If it’s true that the ALX300’s have been withdrawn apart from 22341, 22411 & 22413 then that’s sad they managed a good 17 years in Newcastle but they were definitely getting on with age and reliability issues.
RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
It does make you wonder why they've been wasting time painting the ALX300s and indeed 28021/34 given their withdrawal soon. When you've still got 'Dotty' E300s running around in Newcastle and nearly all the MMCs to do. To be fair some of Hartlepool's E200s that are already in local could do with tidying up given the white is turning a yellowish colour.
RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
I think it would have been a better idea to withdraw buses like 22885/7/9 at Stockton as reliably is terrible, they should give some of the alx a second chance. 22409 is past it and so are the 224s but 22412 deserves a second chance and given that 22428 is beachball and can donate to 22347. 22347 should be given a second shot too.

You are aware that 22428 can't really donate parts to 22347 - as it's the same as the E300-bodied examples, rather than the older ALX300s. The YN07s are unique examples of the MAN 18.240 chassis with ALX300 bodywork - mainly because at that time, ADL were still re-designing the E300 to match the E200Dart (as it was known then) and the E400.
