Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - February 2014

RE: Go North East - Latest
I think that the service changes GNE made back in 2010 have made a massive difference to the 309 and 310. They've managed to build up a strong base in Battle Hill with the 2 services. I've been on the 309 several times on the PM inbound journeys from Newcastle since the double decks launched. The downstairs is always full and upstairs is about half full. I do think though that if GNE retimed the 309 a few minutes before the 308 and promote the 309 more between Rake Lane and Blyth, the 309 could become one of GNE's major services!

I've just said this in the R&O workings thread, but will say it again in here for information purposes.

5257 is now at Chester-le-Street.
I have updated NEB's fleetlists accordingly. Jesus, I'm getting good. Tongue

Certainly getting good! Wink

Without doubt, and should definitely be in service by w/c 10th February - though it may be without branding. As we already know, 5258 has seen use at Chester-le-Street today, so 'by' is most definitely the key word.

A lot of buses to apply brands to, so definitely a busy few weeks ahead;
- X66 Metrocentre
- S1 (should be branded after all four X66s are done)
- East Durham
- SimpliCity
- Fast Cats (inc. current branded vehicles, to update the route details)
- Whey Aye Five 0

etc, etc...

Will the S1 brand be the same as the X66 but on white?

The citaro's should look smart in their livery for the Wear Tee's express

Not sure on that one, but I would imagine they will be similar so that the X66 and S1 are integrated.

I reckon they'll be for the 15A, with 3885/3886/3887/3888 heading to Percy Main to replace Olympians.

It seems weird that (if they are!) heading for the X30/X31 that the amount of Omnicities is lower than the required PVR.

The required PVR for services X30/X31 is 5, if those come to Stanley then maybe one of the other spare omnicites could head over to make up the PVR.
