Weren't they being built around a year before they went into administration, so prime time for when all money was being pumped out of the business and corners likely being cut?
(18 Aug 2023, 8:05 pm)mb134 wrote I've noticed a few posts/comments on Facebook groups from GNE drivers stating that the Angel Streetdecks are pretty poor these days.
Given they're only just coming up to 6 years old, is this a poor purchasing decision or poor maintenance?
(19 Aug 2023, 5:05 am)xpm wrote I’ve only had the displeasure of driving a saloon version of the streetsh!te but almost everyone I’ve come across seems to universally hate them. Cheap, shuddering, unreliable heaps, even from relatively new. Makes a versa look appealing.
12hr day is a short day for a service bus. Probably more to the point I think the days of A and B services are long gone, reactive more than preventative maintenance seems to be the only thing that happens - asides from a week or two of PSV test prep each year, and even then often only test worthy issues are addressed.

We've currently got a board on the 21 that leaves the depot at 0500 and doesn't return until 0130, well that's if the same bus last all day.

Not sure how true it is but someone mentioned on here Darlington want rid of there's and they all do similar work really and they're never out beyond 6pm with either Pulsar's doing the work which are twice the age or E200 MMC's dropping in.
(19 Aug 2023, 11:28 pm)Jimmi wrote Unsure why Darlington's seemingly aren't out much late anymore, seems to have only become the case since the recent service changes whereas prior it was generally either a Pulsar or a Lite on evening 5 & 7 journeys at least.
I have heard a suggestion that it was requested that Arriva no longer use the 67 Plate Lites on Darlington's Moorsbus turn with the allocation typically being formed of a Sapphire 7 spec'd Pulsar since the 2021 season, yet Redcar's turn is generally allocated a Cummins engined StreetLite.

I'd have thought they'd have made more of an effort with it if they've gone to trouble of branding

I'm not sure why they weren't ever corrected as a warranty job, because surely they shouldn't make such a racket by design.
