Did the Redcar management get removed or stocktons or was it a bit of both. In my opinion Redcar have had decent management considering they have to deal with very old buses always breaking down on extreme hilly routes.

Yeh, doesn't help they have one of worst fleet of buses. The transfer of the 09/10 Pulsars haven't really been a great help either with both 1448 & 1449 being out already. The Temsas, although maybe some sort of reliable from time to time mostly break down once every 4 months. I'm hoping once tax year hits the new American owners get investing their cash.

Other way surely? Coming from someone outside the area, Stockton seems the only depot out of the 4 Southern depots which isn't a complete mess.
Arriva North East (not Northumbria) in general is a shambles though, the state of some of the fleet that we've had to suffer in recent years is a disgrace, 1407 and 1409 - in particular. Not a clue who dumped them up here. Cleaning seems a foreign idea down there and the limited times I've used Durham buses straight from a Blyth bus you'd think it was a different company. Credit the Stockton X12's always seemed fine.
I nearly thought I'd say a miracle happened today and all the Solo's were out all day at Ashington today but surprise surprise 2854 another Darlington shed, went tech again.

1407 was widely regarded as one of the best buses in the fleet, IIRC. Very reliable and it performed incredibly well.

I know they did it because they have a Ex Wrightbus Engineer at Stockton but that was a great swap for them. In terms of Darlington, I don't know too much about their fleet but they seem decent since they got the Ecolites. Even though it probs won't happen it would be interesting to see Darlo swap all their lites for Stockton Pulsars and Stockton would be near enough full of Lites. Even thought it won't probably happen it would be really cool to see.

Redcar, even thought it ain't their fault have it the worst. Currently they have a tonne of vehicles off the road. Some only for a little while and some for really long periods of time.

Even though some have only been off for a few days that list shouldn't be that long. I know the B9TL's I think I getting some treatment ready for the summer X93/X94 I think, but the X93 hasn't been suffering any problems. All the other services that redcar operate have been suffering with cancelled services or some showing up over 15 minutes late and some breaking down, especially on the X2/X3/64/64A Rota. I'm personally amazed how Arriva haven't been punished by the Transport Authority yet. Time will tell to see what happens.

Are you sure they're all VOR? As stated in another thread there are multiple vehicles across multiple companies which haven't been tracking correctly for a while now given the issues with ticketer/3G capacity.
(13 Jan 2024, 12:00 am)Storx wrote Apologies, meant from a PAX point of view there, rather than engineering like damaged seats backs etc and no-one bothering to sort it out either.
From memory 1407 wasn't actually that bad internally. By no means was it looking great, but for it's age it still looked reasonably tidy. The 61 plates were the worst of the bunch that came up for the 1/2 conversion IIRC, I could be wrong but I'm sure 1475/97 were particularly dodgy.

I'm 90% Certain. I know personally I haven't seen them myself when I've been on my travels unless someone else can verify that they have. Some might be back tomorrow though I would imagine. A list that big won't be like that for long.

1355 IS GETTING MOT AND ROAD TEST THAT WILL BE BACK SHORTLY AT REDCAR

Obviously, we won't ever know but are the buses off the road because of the Redcar engineering aswell though? I'm not going to dispute the routes but other depots around the country especially in Scotland don't have no-where the issues which Redcar have with similar fleets. The Temsa's in particular work an easy shift really.

They could be out for a couple of days and be back out soon or they could be out for a long time. Temsa's when they are broke, usually sit there for long periods of time. I do think Redcar need a bigger fleet of reserve vehicles though.
I also look at Stagecoach and see they have a huge fleet of ALX 300's sat somewhere ready to be pulled out of storage if they have a huge problem but Arriva don't have anything anywhere. Has to be a financial thing.

4705 is finished don’t think that one will see the road again. Various others have headed back out recently. 7401 is an ongoing saga with a rear axle I gather, replacement fitted was a low speed one which went predictably well on X93s. Think it managed two attempts at an X94 back in the summer and was never seen again!

And if there still on going issues with the rear axel issues with 7401 what els3 can be done.
Are 7401-6 staying with redcar for their summer season

4705 is going to be written off as the cost of repairs needed is far higher than the book value of the vehicle.
Yes, 7401-06 are staying for the summer.
RE: 1452 - NK10 CFV
I mean there is a slight probability that 4705 might get repaired. Other Temsas have been repaired in the past but has taken like 6 months +. Never say never with the Redcar fleet. It will be interesting to see how the B9TL's do this upcoming summer. I would imagine more summer loans again this year though.

4705 is definitely not coming back.

1420 is freed up into reserve when the 15/16/17 changes happen at the end of the month. Wouldn’t bet against that finding its way to Redcar…!

Tell me about it. I swear Redcar is just cursed. Never seem to have any luck go their way. Or maybe the Pulsars getting older can't handle the challenging routes. If they do start to get replacements for some broken temsas, I would imagine it would be random pulsars from anywhere and everywhere. Redcar is just an Old Bus dumping spot now. Would be nice to see more of these Enviro 300's Stockton apparently has got. Personally I would say bring back the Lites. Don't care what anyone says. They definitely were reliable at Redcar.
