RE: Bus incidents
Good to see GoNorthEast are doing their bit to promote people out of their cars by blocking the A1 Northbound near Blaydon down to one lane.

Noticed the Arriva E400 broken down near Gosforth Park aswell but least that was off the road.

I would've put my house on a preserved Leyland or Volvo Olympian beating any of that line up!

Agree there's a time & place and that was not clearly looking at it.

RE: Bus incidents
A friend of mine was on this bus. She in under the impression that another road user caused this collision and the bus driver wasn't to blame.

Certainly not a write off, new windscreen, bumper and corner panel and it'll be sorted

Could've been anything. Looking at where it came off the corner is very sharp. Could've been anything on the road causing the bus to slip or skid.
Looking at other pictures 2870 is looking like a right off

More seriously, a journey to Whitby on a pleasant summer Saturday afternoon... I do hope no one was hurt.

Reports said that everyone on board escaped without serious injury

That river can get quite high at times.
With the rubbish weather we've had for months, it's been very fortunate not to have happened when it was in flood.

The Google maps image of the location is quite interesting. A Morrisons can heading west and taking a very sharp turn on the wrong side of the road.
