This is totally sidewards conversation, but is there any reason why the chargers can't be fitted inside the shed? It seems pretty high to the stage it wouldn't be an issue there?

I would assume any levelling up or other government funding will be lost if they aren't using in the area they applied for. I'll be very interested to see if Stagecoach are taking the whole bill for these vehicles now.

it could be 26290. got taken off the 1/2s in saltburn on monday morning and hasnt been since. this is all speculation before any of the keyboard wharriors want to tell me im wrong cos its not what they want to hear.

Yeah I’m thinking that one too. I’m also starting to wonder could it be that because the 27’s are just scraping through the requirements for the CAZ could Stockton get the 272’s back in exchange for the 262’s until the electrics come. This isn’t confirmed it’s just speculation before people complain.

Aye that's fair on the depot. 

Didn't they swap some vehicles lately btw for the 1, 2, 6 and the other contracted services lately btw so they weren't wasting full length buses on services which really don't need them? Sure more than 2 went down.

I think it’s just been on a test run one of the managers was driving it mate. Not sure if it’s still out or not I highly doubt it.

Heard that 8 more gas buses are due to leave soon to "Reading buses", any truth?

Have to say don’t like the look of these new electrics as they only seems to be 3-4 seats before the step which could make it difficult for disabled people.

Could TNE not just strip SC of these buses if theyre not going to keep them to the services they were meant to get, isnt it the agreement theyre not to be moved for 3-5 years and no frequency reductions at all.

Looks like the E's could be getting increased.


Levelling up funds: E1/E2/E6, be good to see them back to every 7 mins combined - although its at wrong time of the year, as its now Autumn.


PVR goes up from 10 to 12 - if every service is increased to every 20 minutes.

Where does it say that? I assume you might be getting confused here, those electric buses were won via a levelling up fund rather than ZEBRA.

Couldn't quote the attachment.

That's just the money they got the buses through, was a levelling up fund as I can remember slating it as some electric buses in Gosforth doesn't level up poorer areas which was the point of the fund originally.

Mind that said I'm sure it's been mentioned it might be happening though.

BSIP (Bus Services Improvement Fund) that one. Mind the 21, 30, 31, 36, 43 and 64 have all had money spent on them from BSIP.

A second Yutong has appeared at Sunderland. NL74 FVE. No number displayed.

Sunderland's are arriving now, hopefully in service soon however they're being stored at Stockton until the depot is sorted (looks like the depot shed is almost down).

There's a couple at Sunderland though, 1's been out and about - likely driver training so drivers are ready to go once they enter service.

Hopefully the chargers are easy and quick to install.

Apparently Slatyfords are now going to Stockton due to problems with the depot however i'm not sure if those have been ordered yet but they're like to bevYutongs like Sunderlands.

I don't actually get why they can't have a roof and charging points? Why do these charge points need to be open air?

From what I’ve been told mate, it’s due to the heat the electric chargers will produce and apparently the big open doors either end of the shed aren’t enough. But they’ve had the roof off before and had complaints from the local residents about the noise from the buses being checked over on a morning so the same issue would just arise again. So from what I’ve been told as a driver at Slatyford our order has been cancelled and they’ll head to Stockton instead and Slatyford will receive the 69 plate 262’s from Stockton. This isn’t officially confirmed but I have been told this from a union rep.

Its a bit like Sunderland having to have their shed removed but they’re not in a residential area, same with Walkergate having their buses outdoors as well. It’s just an issue with Slatyford depot being in the middle of a residential area.

There's just as many houses close to Wheatsheaf as there is to Slatyford.

Does this mean Cleveland Transit liveried 26282 would transfer from Stockton to Slatyford if this happens? Presumably it would be repainted because the Cleveland Transit livery would make no sense in Slatyford?
