Can't remember the last time I saw an ALX300 on the 19! Always assumed it was too tight to get one around Grindon so they didn't allocate them.
Where/when did you see it and I may go out for a photo?

It was heading up towards Grindon from Grindon lane way, it was 15 mins ago so it could be around Fawcett Street in about 10 mins?

Not sure though

I'm hoping it hasn't been replaced! Was due 10 mins ago at Southwick and still hasn't arrived... Guessing that's a possible reason for the delay...

Well the 1726 arrival was on time so I can only assume that the one 22021 was allocated to had to run light somewhere or another.

Edit: It's currently sat in the depot. Must have been replaced.

Might well have been covering mileage or something as a spare bus

I think judging by previous posts on the Latest thread, 22021 was brought in to cover for 36965 which had developed a fault near the terminus of the route.

As soon as 36965 was active again, it replaced 22021.

Why a section of the route was served by neither vehicle, I do not know.

24109 is on 13 too
22451/670 are on service 37 and Olympian 16839 is running around on 13s

24111 was later taken off the 59/61 however 36-branded 24103 also put in an appearance
17032 also appeared on the 13 (not sure if it replaced 16839 or not) remaining out on there until the end of service (also making a rare appearance of a decker on the 13A).
RE: Stagecoach North East: Rare and odd workings
Can i say alot e300 are going on other services but not 36 like there why bought for why is that

24103 actually appears to have replaced 24111. Here is 24103 on the 59 at 1600, notice the newly updated Stockton screen list with additional via points for the 59

Probably covering mileage then and once 36965 was fixed that will have gone to where it should be to pick it up again. Obviously by the time 22021 gets to pick up the service there'll be a gap unless it ran very late, pointless on a frequent service though.

19s are half hourly - hardly frequent!

The 36 is interworking with the 38 at the moment, so that is why they are appearing on there. Whether some are off the road I don't know - there's all these ex Sunderland MANs arrived and only 22199 seems to have come off. 22198 was certainly still in service yesterday.

As are all the other crap ones as I've seen 22206, 22210 and 22667 in the last few days...

I suspect 22198 may have been re-instated to replace 22202 that had the Accident in Middlesbrough Bus Station last week.

Not so much a rare working per se, but rather an odd sighting I spotted earlier today while driving from Whickham to Burnopfield.

If the picture is not clear, it is of a Stagecoach 'Driver Training' vehicle parked up at the bus stop just after Pack Horse in Crookgate heading towards the bank towards Byermoor.

It's not very often you see a Stagecoach bus around these parts which brings me to my next question.

When out training, are there allocated routes which the instructors keep to or are they free to roam as they please?

Just like a car driving instructor, the instructor of a bus or truck, will use a road which is suitable for the vehicle and driver.
If the instructor can find a decent route, which covers a wide range of technical difficulties, that route will be used - obviously as long as it within driving distance and practical.

The test routes are set from the test centre.

I don't think that stretch of road is on the test centre route, so presume it hits a high score for test prep.

17025 on 58s (not uncommon for Saturdays but officially no deckers out on Saturdays)
