Go North East: Former Fleet Members Living On

RE: Ex Go North East Buses living on with other Firms
Thought I had seen an ex GNE vehicle this afternoon in Sleaford...

An Rxxx LGH Olympian was on scholars duties, but as I approached it, I realised what was up.

Working for 'Tourist', R383 LGH may have been registered in the same batch as the GNE lot, but rather than have the Palatine body, it had the Palatine II body, associated with the Sxxx OFT or Sxxx FVK Olympians.

North East Bus & Coach (dealer in Stockton) have that. They also have 3827.

Haha! Wouldn't surprise me.

Trustybus also have ex-GNE 8238 (NK51 MKM), as shown here.

I absolutely cannot believe it. I only came on the thread now to post that same photo of 8238 in Trustybus livery Tongue

EDIT: Here it is from a different angle;

It did get sold to Ensign, but I don't think they've sold it on yet as I can't find any photos of it online.

What's with the flip dot displays? Because I notice they've got a Go North East route programmed in, but they didn't have flip dots when they were 'Citylink'.

Go North East kept the LEDs to re-use elsewhere in the fleet and replace flipdots. I think someone noted one of Stanley's 380x Lolynes receiving an LED destination display and Adam M recently noted that one of the Limes had received a new frontal/side/rear destination display. Providing they're of the same size, that could be where they came from.

When selling to Optare Direct, the vehicles have to be of a 'serviceable state' (the reason why a number of the ex-Citylink batch were rejected by Optare as, when withdrawn, they had been VOR for periods of up to two months or so) - but there's no policy to keep LED displays in or replace them with flipdots.

Ah, thank you! :)

The Lime was 4853 and I think the Lolyne was 3801, as the last time I saw 3802 it had a flipdot.

We know about 4853 and 3801 and 3802 have had their Flipdots replaced with LEDs.

I was only confirming which specific vehicle under the Lime brand had received the LEDs and which Lolyne I thought had also been given some.
