RE: Helen Bus Blinds.
(03 Jan 2014, 10:15 pm)Tom wrote Hi - Does anyone know where I can download Helen, looks good.

Hi, I'm about five months too late, but here's the link that I used.
I've included some 'forum-favourite' routes as an example of what you can make! Tongue

How do you get it with that font on the top and the other style on the bottom?

Print screened it and cropped it, then uploaded it to photobucket and copied the url code Smile

Alternatively, at the bottom of every 'Post Reply' screen there is an 'Attachments' section in which you can find the file that you've saved on your computer/laptop and upload it direct to NEB.

Doesn't work for me.

You are doing a screenshot of the destination rather than the HELEN file itself, aren't you?

Yeah, that's how you have to do it.

Just a thought... with the introduction of the white display on the spare Versa, what if a new layout was introduced featuring route branding colours? Obviously my design won't work with all colours as effectively.

Although I quite like those, I'm of the understanding that 5390's display is a white display as opposed to a full coloured LED display, showing white displays?

The current destination displays that are coloured only have the number part coloured too, so the destination display wouldn't be able to be 'coloured' white.

I'd imagine the cost of a full colour LED would be extortionate.

haha, a HELEN file!
Ooo Friend, Bus Friend.

I imagine so! I know there's a Transdev group, "Mainline", using Mobitec blinds similar to my design. Then again... is it really worth it, considering most regular passengers fail to read most of the standard ones! Tongue

To have a full colour display rather than just the route number in colour is a lot more expensive. I understand that GNE will not be buying any colour route number blinds in the future anyway, they will either be amber or white (after the Versa trial), with a full destination on the rear rather than just a route number.

Thanks for clearing that up! Can I ask, what's with the Arial route numbers on the 56 and 58? Are these trials as well?

Sort of yes, just looking to see if using other fonts than the 'norm' look much different, sometimes we feel they look a bit too robotic. Cannot see all route numbers changing to Arial, but it is work in progress.

I quite like how it's displayed in white on the 56 - quite snazzy! Tongue

I've made some different designs of LED Displays, and I'm going to try some Colour RN/Full Colour blinds later and I'm wondering what is you favourite out of the options below:

Option 1:

What's the opinion on the trial so far? I personally prefer the white blinds, as they stand out more in the distance.

I quite like the first one, although it might take a while to go through everything on the 19! Tongue

I like the design of the first one too!
That one was for the terminus of the 19 though - if it was scrolling it would just have Royal Quays, Cobalt etc.

Ah, makes sense... should have looked closer and I would have realised! Tongue

How did you make the third one? Is it on a 144x19 display, or 144x17?
