(09 Jun 2014, 6:55 am)Tom wrote I'd probably get the 265 to Hetton, then X1/X35 to Houghton then the 71 from there?

Aye, the 35's would do the job too.

Even if Fozz misses the 71, a 4 to Woodstone Village would give him the choice of the 71 or 78 down the hill.
Heck, its not even that far of a walk.

Thanks Andreos, don't want to walk, not that am really lazy, am going for an Interview for some voluntary work there, being a fat b@#$%=d, if I walk I get sweaty, If I get sweaty, I start to get a bit smelly, and I want to make the right impression Big Grin

That's my excuse anyway haha

Good luck with the interview and good luck with the sweat issue too. It is a bit warm out there, so load up on deodorant!

Another option, could be the 265 to Durham and then the 21/x21 to Chester Black Horse.
Would have suggested the short walk down Ropery Lane - but the 71 or 78 would save you the job Wink

Doing the 9:20ish 265, X1 to Houghton, 71 to Riverside, They asked me to be there for 11am, I told them it may be about 11:15 depending on buses, I will impress them by turning up about 20mins early...Just hope my haircut does not go against me this time, gonna try neaten the mo' up without sticking it up haha

Not 'latest' as such but unsure where to put this.

From my vast collection of bits and pieces, an Opatre Sales/Specification sheet from October 1993 featuring 4757. Hopefully of interest to someone =]

I also have a Plaxton Prestiege sales/specification brochure when I can find it which has some good pictures of one of the 4820 - 4825 batch of Dafs branded for the X66 service. Also displayed on that one is one of the Stagecoach examples on Volvo Chassis. Anyway, I will upload it when I find it.

Enjoy

The ex London dual doored Volvo B7's, are they DDA compliant?

Yes, that is a reason for them remaining dual doored - the wheelchair ramp is located at the centre door and there to relocate it (and also widen the access at the front) would have added to the £20000 it cost per vehicle for their refurbishment (the figure comes from an interview Peter Huntley gave in Buses magazine back in 2010 on the turn-around at Go North East over his tenure and the cost of mid life refurbishments).

Fleet news -

Volvo B10BLEs 5160, 5161, 5162, 5163 and 5164 from Riverside have been swapped with DAF SB120s 8242, 8243, 8244, 8245 and 8246 from Saltmeadows.

Olympian 3819 has been transferred from Percy Main to Stanley.

3816 withdrawn from Stanley. (From fleet allocation)

Thanks for that. The reason I ask (I am going to refer to service 9 here), is that the ramp cannot be used at Sunderland Interchange at the current Stand (believe me I have tried). So when I have taken someone onto the bus in a wheelchair, we need to use the front door with no ramp. Now, how to tackle the issue? The bus is DDA compliant, the building is fine but when both used together the building cancels the buses effectiveness out (I hope I have explained that ok). Could changing stands be an option?

Scania L94UB/Wright Solars 4954/55 and 4973-76 had already received the updated route branding for service X36.

The repaint is simply because they had not been repainted since August 2009, and each bus is typically treated to a repaint once every four to five years. The branding will be re-applied in exactly the same format as it was prior to the vehicles heading to the paintshop for repaint.

Wait what? That is such a waste of money, no wonder the fares are quite high. Thanks for the information anyway.

Nobody seems to like getting nearside shots of these Solars, but an example of this can be seen on the photograph below (albeit only just!)

I can just manage to see it, thanks again for info.

In the VOSA registrations posted before, i noticed something to do with the 43/43B/44 but nothing to do with 44A. 43B is a new service (not completely new, was a Sunday Morning journey between Stanley and Newcastle via Gateshead Interchange instead of Metrocentre) so i was maybe thinking if this is the end of the 44A already. But, after quickly skimming through the others i havent seen a Cancellation of service 44A yet.

I have a funny feeling that it hasn't been incorrectly recorded this time round by VOSA, as 8306-09 and 8319 are still yet be Branded as Simplicity as everyone thinks will happen eventually, and if they were to be Branded Simplicity then it should of happened Months ago, Not 9 Months after the first Vehicle was Repainted.
