I do not believe they bid for anything in the first place.

I'd be very surprised if they didn't put a bid in.

They did'nt, you also notice, not one Go Ahead or Arriva company on the list. Whilst Go Ahead London will benefit in some form, this is not through Go Ahead as TfL are buying the Borismaster and not the Operators.

RE: Go North East
Not sure if it has been traffic or passenger levels, but there seems to have been a few issues with the M1 this afternoon.
I've seen services running in pairs, more often than usual.
Usually one of the pairs has been 'out of service' but carrying passengers.
RE: Go North East
Interesting, Wonder if its finally gonna get the updated version which is currently on the Versa's.

There hasn't been a fleet update in a few weeks for GNE, by the Fleet Allocation.

Has their being any fleet movements lately? Only reason i ask because GNE normally misses some out.

Lots of Angelic Regulation Running today too, the Angels coming in 3's and 4's. 2 got turned around at Gateshead and the one I was on booted us off at Coach and Horses and ran back to Chester through Birtley

I believe there is temp traffic lights at the bottom of Chester causing mayhem.

Having been informed by Liam earlier today prior to your post, I decided to do some research for myself to find out which one it was.
8258 was on the 38s today, as well as 8273. 8271/72 were on the 61, which leaves 8259 unaccounted for - the Cadet you spoke of which was being prepared for its "Northern" repaint and re-brand.

3886 is confirmed to have transferred from Chester-le-Street from Deptford, with her sisters following suit shortly (if they already haven't), I believe.

A lot of the ancillary vehicle movements have been fluid recently, what with the arrival of several new vans to the fleet.

56s were the same today.
RE: Go North East
So 8259 is getting Branded Northen or re-branded Drifter?

are 3886 sisters 3885,3887,3888,3889?, if so what has replaced them at Chester?

I could be wrong, but I do believe it's "Northern", yes.

Indeed they are. I'm yet to receive confirmation, but nothing has replaced them yet. I believe these movements are for preparation towards the upcoming service changes.

Delays probably also not helped by the closure of Hills Street in Gateshead.

(28 May 2013, 6:13 pm)dans_bus_photos wrote 8259 was on the short peak time X35s tonight

That baffles me.

8258 was on 38s.
8259 was unaccounted for.
8271 was on 61s.
8272 was on 61s.
8273 was on 38s.

I have photos of all bar 8258, as she was departing as I was arriving Park Lane.

As there are only five "Drifter" Cadets, I can't explain you seeing 8259.
RE: Go North East
Oh well, I wonder if the 61 will get better buses, if it is losing the Cadets, it could be getting the Newish brand for the Drifter which is currently used on the Versa's.

The 61 could be getting Versa's from the 36 when changes happen with the Cadets from the 61 going on the X3/X36/26/36/36A/99 but we still don't know what will be used on them services after changes.

RE: Go North East
Well i seen NK04FPD (which last time i checked was 8259) about 6.10 coming down Bede Bank on the X35.

You are correct, according to the on board tracking, 8259 has been operating in Sunderland all day today

Irritatingly, I had left Park Lane five minutes before the second short X35's arrival (the one you speak of).
I truly am baffled then.

if 8259 has being operating in Sunderland today, Wonder what Drifter Cadet it is?

It could of gone to Saltmeadows after doing the working?

Whichever Cadet it is, it has been in there the fair majority of today, so couldn't have gone to Saltmeadows afterwards.

I spotted all of the Cadets I spoke of between 16:00 and 18:15.
Dan spotted 8259 on the short X35 due to arrive 18:22.
RE: Go North East
There's an OK Expressway running round on the 8 tonight. Was going in to Chester Le Street about 20 to 7. Didn't catch the number.

I know the 21 was having issues early this morning (around 8-9am). Durham County Council in their wisdom had coned the A167 off to one lane each direction between Red Lion at Plawsworth and the Pity Me roundabout. There were tailbacks right along to the Waldridge roundabout.

RE: Go North East
Because they are on the only Green Cadets atm, its a Drifter.

We will have to see which Drifter is missing from Service tommorow

When i was in park lane today, i seen a bus spotter this was around 12:15-12:30, he was standing next to the Exit, when i went past he had just took a pic of the Wear Tee's XPRESS. Anyone on here?

That would be 5232 (NK55 OLM).
Was on the short 8 from Park Lane departing 18:02.

That's what I did today - and failed, clearly! I wish I got a photo of 8258 on the 38s as well as 8273, as I got a photo of 8171/2 on the 61s.

8258 went to Saltmeadows on Friday afternoon and according to the system it is still there.
