If it's fitted with Wi-Fi, 1213's isn't working.

Something I've always wondered since 685 days... Why does this one have a destination display-like screen at the front of the bus which says 'Arriva'?

From it's days on the X66 - all 5 of the coaches refurbished for the X66 we're due to have next stop information but it never got further than the screens being fitted. 1736-9 were also fitted with screen however theirs did work for a time on 48/48a.

Cheers.

Did the others have them removed? I think 1211 had it on the 685 too but I can't remember any of the others having them (when they were on the 685).

I hope they weren't partially paid for by a government grant - Andreos won't be too happy, if so! Wink

7487 broke down in Whitby bus station today whilst going back to Middlesbrough it was soon fixed by 8 drivers and a cleaner but was running 20 minutes late
RE: Arriva North East - Latest
So if the sapphire buses start tomorrow does that mean 1208 is getting scrapped. If this is wrong I'm sorry I am just going by a drivers unitive.

No I think 1213/14 are going to Yorkshire to be converted to trainers and then 1207/8/9 have been sold.

Glad I got a shot of 1208 on service X15 today!

Anybody coming to Teesside to look for 223, you will need to be here before 4pm, as it's on the 6.

7523 running 10 mins late on the X22, and also has a defective frontal destination display (which looks like possible water damage?) - baffling that this wasn't spotted on inspections...

EDIT: His ETM is broken, so that X22 will be getting regulated. A passenger tells me she boarded a brand new one this morning and it was very rattley and not what you would expect from a brand new bus...

Also noteworthy is that one example has not yet been branded, but is out in service.

The Wi-Fi isn't working either.

4518 - in the same style as 46 branding on the Solos that haven't been repainted.

4523 likewise.

7508 is reportedly one Sapphire going around minus branding, and I've just seen 7509 minus branding too...

4520 likewise.

Seems to be a few gaps in the Sapphire service. I can account for 12 of the 15 workings, but your guess is as good as mine for where the other 3 are!

I suspect that's one of the ones that went missing at some point this afternoon - very much like 7508 which is also reported to be out in a plain Sapphire base livery - which means that three E400s were out today with no branding (7508/09/13)...

Richard Smiles has e-mailed out a revised copy of his fleet list, so thanks to him we've now had the specific movements confirmed which tyresmoke alluded to a few days ago:

As a result of the entry of service of new ADL Enviro 400s 7522-28 and refurbished ADL Enviro 400s 7501-09 today, the following movements have occurred:

  • 7512 released for refurbishment at Bus & Coach World, Blackburn.

  • 7490 has transferred to Redcar, for service X93.

  • 4501 has been transferred to Stockton, allowing 4001 to go for disposal.
  • 4502 has been transferred to Stockton, allowing 4006 to go for disposal.
  • 4505 has been transferred to Stockton, allowing 4062 to go for disposal.

Interesting, 4513 was down to transfer to Redcar. 7483 was meant to be staying to cover 7490 being away. I assume 7481 stays instead, before transferring to Durham in September.

Just had a look through their Facebook page, and the Arriva bod doesn't seem to be particularly knowledgeable...

I've quoted one of the comments which stood out to me:

Arriva North East Hi Peter Kiggins the stockton and redcar ones will have white LEDs. I am guessing because 9 of the X21/X22 fleet are refurbs these were ordered in orange in order to match up
Like ยท 5 hours ago

'I am guessing'? This screams wrong on so many levels to me. Good job they were just guessing though, as it certainly wouldn't have been to match them up - more likely to save a bit of $$$. Obviously this wouldn't have been admitted on the public domain, but y'know..!

Since when?
You are going to have to enlighten us...

There were often drivers taking part in discussions on the old fb pages.
Used to love the bod at the time, wading in and ensuring rules were followed.
