The 36 is always used in Hartlepool it the only service for the bottom half of Owton Manor Lane so reducing it will not help double deckers will.

Notice this display is showing "Town Centre" instead of "Market". I think it would be a good idea to upgrade all of the vehicles' display's to this format, as they are much easier to read.
Well from today they will go back to saying 'Market'

I much prefer "Town Centre" too, and whilst I like the larger terminal point font, the via points are so small, it's almost pointless having them. I've seen a similar style rolled out on a number of Stagecoach buses in different regions too, and the via points are what spoils it every time for me, on what would otherwise be a nice destination display.

Our South Tyneside residents are more likely to know than me, but is the Market still operational in South Shields? I've gone through quite a few times in the past few months and it's never open... Just stalls sitting there empty, which doesn't half make the place look dire.

If it's no longer open, I can't quite work out why all of Stagecoach's destinations revolve around it.

It's still open 4 days a week but I'm not sure which days but the South Shields Market Metrocar 4080(Paired with 4067) will tell you.

All 10/11/30 buses run into the depot and the night running boards get buses from the depot

(08 Aug 2014, 8:54 pm)AIG20 wrote If Stockton gets any more Low Floor Double Decker's, they will most likely be Ex-London Tridents as they are DDA-compliant. However, the S** BWC Tridents are not DDA Compliant which means that they are also due for replacement.

And how exactly do you know that? Who isn't to say 2 more of the S-BWC batch don't arrive from Hull (we need a minimum 1 extra but 2 spares for a PVR of 6 would make more sense due to the contract nature). However, as they are only for school work, all that is needed is for the 200-205 are de-registered in August 2016 and operated as a pass service from then on as DDA vehicles are only required on services registered with VOSA (aka those open to the general public).

I know that the display's on the South Shields ADL E200s have a slightly different format to the display's on the other vehicles; but the format is even more different (much better in my opinion) on this example.

Is this design going to be rolled out to all South Shields buses, or just the Enviros?

Any ideas which two they've replaced at Slatyford?

I'm told Sunderland is due to receive another Stockton E300 for repaint today. Should arrive some time this morning, if anyone wants to confirm which one it is later.

...and how many non-DDA MAN ALX300s remain in service?

22478,22482,22483 are all spares after the recent cascades.

22480,22481 and 22484 were in service however its likely that 481 and 484 will be used as spares after this recent cascade. altogether there are 6 non-DDA ALX 300S

(09 Aug 2014, 12:04 pm)AIG20 wrote South Shields and Sunderland's fleet are up-to-date they are the most most youthful SNE depots. I think the depots most likely to get new vehicles in the future may probably be Slatyford (which may include displacing DDA compliant MAN ALX300s to Stockton) and well as Sunderland (the possibility of getting more gas buses - most likely for services 4 and 12).

Could Slatyford invest in some "gas buses" in the future, and is there enough room to build a gas fuelling station in the depot?

if there was anymore gas buses on order they would most likely go to Sunderland first, then south shields if it got gas fuelling facilities
RE: Stagecoach North East - Latest
Would be nice if Hartlepool got some new buses as well as some more double deckers for Teesside for the 36
RE: Stagecoach North East - Latest
Anyone know if 24102 is still at Sunderland? Not seen it back at Stockton yet

Shouldn't be.
Another was due to arrive on Saturday so it should have returned then.

Only 2 were ordered for this year. Myself and other colleagues have discussed whether we will get more next year to remove the last 3 MAN ALX300 but only time will tell.
