Do you think that ANE will use the MAX X18's or 7511 - 7513 as a backup for the X21 / X22 if there's a Sapphire shortage after 7509 is used? Also, what ones at Ashington are Tachographed and do you think Arriva will order the MMC and for what route.

OI registration on the 'trade' plate is from Belfast, therefore, it seems that the delivery driver comes from WrightBus (or their agents) - ie not Arriva NorthEast staff collecting from the docks.

Proper linked photos - rather than screenshots of Facebook pages you'll find Wink Like Dan asked for earlier

As for the trade plates, bus operators do not go and collect their new stock, the manufacture or a special delivery company delivers them. Alexander Dennis and Optare use a company called Bens Transport based in Leyland Lancashire. I believe Wrightbus do their own deliveries along with any Wright-bodied Volvo products.

I notice that these Streetlite's don't have E-Leather seats unlike the EcoCity's, or if they are E Leather they have no headrests.

This must constitute a problem at times like this when many vehicles have to be delivered at once (due to new registrations in March and September).

All new vehicles, regardless of specification, have E-leather seats. Vehicles to standard spec have Civics without headrests.

So are Eco Vehicles regarded as just standard specification? If so, why do the MAN's have headrests and not the Streetlite's? I guess it was just down to the time they were ordered?

Service 685 isn't getting new buses - the OmniCitys are being refurbished to standard specification with seatbelts.

That is now on hold I understand (and seatbelts were never planned). Also the seating in 4660-2/4 is not e-leather but proper leather.

Seen by a family member this afternoon, was an Arriva bus in the green leaf livery on a Thorntons Low loader heading to Faverdale depot.
My guess is that it was one of the ex MAN gas bus demonstrators.

4809 has been at Thorntons having its accident damage fixed, so will likely be this one!

Nice to see the next batch of Streetlites starting to arrive already, these are 4 weeks earlier than planned so our cascades may well see stuff leaving the fleet earlier than we expected!

After Stagecoach announced to the local press (in Hexham, iirc?) that they'd be investing in two brand new vehicles, equipped with seatbelts, didn't Arriva also have a quote suggesting that they would also refurbish the buses so that the buses they allocate to service 685 would lose the 'slippy leather' and gain seatbelts?

“Our plans are that, from late summer, we will be replacing those vehicles with leather seats, with fabric seating. We’re looking at the options in terms of handrails and whether we can fit seatbelts in any of the forward or side-facing seats.”

Clearly, as summer has now passed, these plans have been delayed. I assume that the plan will still go ahead, but it's just delayed in order to allow for MAX refurbishments first? These are obviously the priority. I wouldn't like to think Arriva gave out false claims to the residents of Hexham - they don't take too kindly to that sort of thing...

The statement was made at a meeting of Northumberland County Council's West Area Committee meeting in response to a petition complaining about the 685 service.

Stagecoach promised new vehicles whilst Arriva 'only' offered to refurbish the seats (without the slippery 'leather') and consider fitting seatbelts (as had been fitted when Arriva ran coaches on the route):-

I believe they are considering other options now.
