Arriva North East: Rare & Odd Workings - September 2014

RE: Arriva North East - Rare and Odd Workings
So to sum up from today, the missing Sapphire at Stockton was once again 1553, with 1450 being our cover bus today, we need 1512 to return then we should be sorted!
1769 was a replacement for Cadet 1908 on 9/27A's, certainly an odd working! 4038 came out as a replacement for 1922 on service 27 too.
Redcar had 4651 and Whitby had 4655 and 4710 on the X93, whilst also in use at Redcar was 1638, 1653 and 1737 that I saw. All of their Sapphire Streetlites were out today despite worries that some hadn't been taxed fully, so the whole of East Cleveland now sparkles :-)

"Tax applied for" used to work back in the days (as did a Newki Brown Ale label).

An alx400 on the 64's earlier on in Durham.
It was too far away to get id.

I used to like Del Boys idea of a tax disc in Only Fools...

A piece of paper on the windscreen saying 'TAX IN POST'
RE: Arriva North East - Rare and Odd Workings
Redcar used 4651 on the same X93 board again (0950 from Mbro) for the 3rd day running, also appearing on X93 from Whitby were Omni 4655 and Temsa 4710.

Stockton had 1446 covering on Sapphire today (1553 missing still...) whilst Mini Dart 1756 replaced a Scania on 21A at 1545!

This may seem like a stupid question and i have read the fleet profile for it but is 1512 remaining in Standard Livery and receiving a Sapphire spec refurb or is it being repainted into Sapphire livery as well?
RE: Arriva North East - Rare and Odd Workings
1512 is in Sapphire livery, with full refurbishment to the same standard as the Streetlitrs. 1440 for Redcar should be the same

I think it would have been the 0850 depature for 4651 as I boarded it in Guisborough at 09.17. 4651was having problems on route with the engine cover springing open resulting in a meeting with Arriva Fleet Support outside of Sainsburys at Whitby.
RE: Arriva North East - Rare and Odd Workings
X93 struggling again - MPD 1743 on 13.20 working from Middlesbrough today. Dear oh dear - must try harder!

RE: Arriva North East - Rare and Odd Workings
Looks like we're back to deckers today on X93 as 7489 is working the 0850 from Middlesbrough and 7484 is here to work the 0920.
Redcar meanwhile are using 1307 & 1653 on 22/64s
Stockton's Sapphire Pulsar today is on the 0835 5A from Mbro, but I can't remember which one it was I passed! lol

1447 was the Pulsar on 5s at Stockton, covering for 1559.
MPD 1771 replaced Pulsar 1449 around 0900 on 9/27A

1455 was on 17A, while 1457 was providing more than enough capacity on Stockton's 7

1450. 1453 will just now be finishing its short afternoon on a 21A working (which finishes with a round trip on 27s).

Meanwhile, one from Durham depot - 1766 on the X1/X2

Special timetable on Darlington 11's today for the festival of thrift at Lingfield Point. Every 15 minutes instead of usual 30 minute Sunday service. Ecocities 4810 and 4811 on this morning instead of usual Solo's.

21 is still EcoCity operated too, it would seem.

Not sure about the other routes which see EcoCity operation on Sundays?

After 1453 left boro on the 15:45 21A they produced Cadet 1911 for a late running 15:35 X1 don't know how far that worked.
RE: Arriva North East - Rare and Odd Workings
Darlington depots allocations have really gone to pot today:

1/5A - 1493, Sapphire 1518
2 - 2851
4 - 1646
75/76 - 1407
X1 - 2 13 reg Pulsars
X66 - 1406

Photos of most of these allocations are now on my Flickr photostream.
RE: Arriva North East - Rare and Odd Workings
How does the 1/5 interworking occur? Does it go out as a 1 and return as a 5 or do a full 1 (there and back) then a 5 there and back?

What other services in Darlo interwork? (Except Sunday allocations such as 4/14 & 5A/X66)

The 1/5 goes 1 to Bishop Auckland then round trip on 5 or 5a then back onto a 1. Only other Darlington services that interwork during the day are the 9/10.
In other news, 1460 is on the 17a.
