Left Middlesbrough around 1635 as I was the 1625 27 and it was just coming in then... Passed it again at Wilton/Trunk Road roundabout on it's 64.

7485 was on 81 this afternoon yet again, 1923 nearly made it onto the X1/X2 but got swapped for 1445 off 9/27A I gather.

4001, 1406 & 1498 on X66 as already mentioned. Reckon some Scanias may have departed for refurbishment now B&CW have finished the first K-Line refurbs

That's not on at all - the drivers having a fag break, and delaying the service. I would say complain to Arriva, but they don't reply.

Thankfully I was just wanting a photo but it meant I was stood outside a freezing Park Lane for 20 minutes.

I'm changing my plans because I was going to get a 23 and unfortunately it is that particular one later.

The likelihood is the reason it ran 10 minutes late is to ensure that the driver had his 30 minute break before actually driving again.

Service 24 unofficial allocation had always been mixed with omni's, pulsars, double deckers and solos. I see them each day from the house.

Funny you should say that as when I was down Hartlepool Monday morning a 23 pulled up just short of the stand in Victoria Road. The passengers all set off to walk towards it, the driver waved them away. He then got off and stood having a fag. Meanwhile the X35 turned up and got all the passengers! The X35 is due first mind. Odd that they have timed the 23 just behind it!

I thought that about the times in Peterlee today as the X35 comes at 28, 58 in Peterlee Bus Station towards Hartlepool while the 23 comes 5 minutes later.

Also do the drivers only have 30 minutes for a break for doing another round trip on the 23 as the 23 is not the most reliable service in the world and if you journey gets badly delayed but the next journey is fine but then has to leave Park Lane late because a previous journey had a problem.

Here is a photo of 2811 on the 23 today

The way most of the duties work is that you come off one bus and get on the one behind, giving you exactly 30 minutes late - which can cause quite a problem at times.

That's pretty poor, especially at the minute with roadworks in Blackhall causing delays.

Was in Park Lane the other day and a 23/24 driver told a coach driver that the bus he was meant to be taking over was half an hour late...
Don't think he should have been complaining if he got 60 mins break instead of 30!

I'm always moaning about stuff coming in late... Hard work to get back on time on some routes! If it was 30 late then there's no question about losing mileage unless you're on a very slack route.

Not sure when that bus actually came in as I didn't hang around to see it... Imagine that the following 23 or 24 (whichever it was) wouldn't have been too far behind though, so regulation definitely would have been on the cards.
Again, couldn't imagine it to be something a driver would complain about though? Or is this just my lazy side coming out? Tongue
