Returning to school today has actually put me in a much better mood to what I've been in the past few days, so I'll let bygones be bygones. May this post serve as a polite reminder that we should all be using self-moderation on this forum. If you wouldn't like someone to make a remark about you on the public domain, don't do it yourself. I'm not religious myself, but I know that some members of this forum are, and one section of the Bible will always stick with me: Matthew 22:34-40 (if unfamiliar, it may be an idea that you Google it).
On-topic, in relation to the quoted section in bold font: Hadn't expected that - I had thought that 3962/65 would become the new K2/K3VOY. Obviously these plates will be held on retention and re-allocated too, presumably to two other Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TLs.
Following an engine bay fire at Gateshead Transport Interchange in May earlier this year, Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 4949 (NK51 OLP) was temporarily withdrawn. The vehicle was repaired (being upgraded to 'Euro 5' status in the process), then subsequently repainted and re-branded. It has been undergoing a number of additional repairs over the two to three weeks, and it has now entered service at Riverside once again. Today, it has been allocated to the "The Highwayman" services.
In addition, Deptford-based "Silver Arrows" branded Mercedes Citaro 0530N/Mercedes Citaro 5320 (NK58 DVW) has now arrived at Saltmeadows for repaint. Despite being repainted just two over years ago, the vehicle is undergoing yet another repaint into a silver base livery (ie it will remain allocated to the "Silver Arrows" services). It has previously been discussed that some of the paint had once again 'bubbled' slightly around the wheel arches, and also that some of the wing mirrors on the Mercedes Citaros in the fleet had been knocked and replaced with wrongly coloured wing mirrors. In theory, repainting these vehicles two years earlier than planned should allow the presentation of the vehicles to be a bit better. This also serves as confirmation that the "Silver Arrows" services will not form a part of this year's investment plan.
