Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes
06 Nov 2014, 5:41 pm,
Post: #341
RE: Arriva bus changes!
Can anybody notices the mistakes on the DCC mapping system?.
Arriva 22/X21 serving Stephenson Road and head towards Horden even though the X21 doesn't and the 22 only does on evenings and Sundays.

RE: Arriva bus changes!
yeah, DCC has put the X21 going to sunderland via Easington Colliery and Dalton le Dale same route as 22/23 between Easington and Sunderland and not touching the A19.  Also their have the 22 route going via Easington Colliery and having the less variation direct between Peterlee and Easington Village. Also DCC has service 24 not serving Southway and Helford Road in which I have told them in a few emails about it not shown going via Southway.

At least it shows GNE service 8 going via Enterprise Park to Sunderland.

(15 Jun 2024, 2:30 pm)Rob44 wrote i was on a GNE bus a while bacck when a W/c user who lived in my street tried to get on but the ramp didn't work. the driver went on his phone/radio and granted i didn't hear the whole conversation but the bus left with out them and by the time I got home they were just getting out of a Wheelchair accessible taxi ( they as in w/c user and person with them) and all the shopping at there door whilst i walked from the bus stop in the driving wind. Didn't sound like discrimination in that case!

The issue is that response shouldn't be required, and wheelchair users should be able to board buses. Obviously a broken ramp is slightly different (provided it was checked and worked on a first use inspection, and the defect happened in service), but the reports on here and elsewhere indicate that GNE have been knowingly sending out vehicles that cannot safely board wheelchair users at various bus stations, due to the centre door position of the ramp.

805 is a school service for Nunthorpe school, basically the current morning duplicate is registered to start from Brambles Farm. Additionally we also now get one on an afternoon, with a 27A dropped to allow the bus to do the 805. Not a permanent arrangement but we needed it to stop overloading on the 5s, and also help with reliability! The loadings from Nunthorpe school are ridiculous this year

Oh dear! Going back to like years ago when they used to take the 291 off to do a school run!
Maybe overloading cos they've put Streetlites on rather than Prestiges and Pulsars! If only they'd got Citaros, as someone said a while back.

Pulsars couldn't cope with the loadings either! lol
I did the 0745 out of Middlesbrough earlier in September with a Pulsar and had 60 kids on and left another 20+ at the stops from Fulbeck Road up over. Thats why we run a duplicate on that now using the bus that starts at Brotton at 0844.

Looking at Traveline, it appears that service X24 will no longer operate on Sundays from January 4th.

I imagine out of peak Christmas time and up against the more established GNE X22 (especially since GNE matched the X22 route to X24) it would be struggling to be worth it

DIVERSION OF SERVICE 4 AT RUNSWICK BAY

Passengers are advised, that due to a road closure in place on Runswick Lane/Hinderwell Lane, Service 4 journeys between Loftus & Whitby are unable to serve Runswick Bay.

The service will operate via the A714 between Hinderwell & Ellerby.

A Shuttle service is in operation between Runswick Bay to Ellerby and will connect with Service 4 departures to both Whitby & Loftus.

This closure is expected to last until 19 December and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

These will just be for the new junction at Stonebridge which should be open next week, which should reduce delays to these services.
