This is a fault of MyBB 1.8.

Unfortunately, there are no options in place for me to allow every user, by default, to see images in posts. However, this is something you can change yourself. I've tested it myself, and it does seem to work.

Under 'Thread View Options', tick the boxes for 'Display images in posts' and 'Display videos in posts'.

One thing I've noticed in Chrome, is that in thread display mode, the text size is massive. When posting a reply, it looks the size you'd expect to see though. 

Another thing is that the 'likes' appear twice.

This is a downside to the plugin we have installed, yes.

A new plugin is being developed, including the feature of a 'counter' on a user's profile which should directly allow that user to see where their 'likes' have come from, but it's still in the early stages of development and although it has already been released, it lacks some of the core features we have at the moment - so I'll hold off before converting to that plugin.
