There is no Peterlee-Airshow bus this year meaning theses from Peterlee & Easington have no bus through to Sunderland on the Sunday due to the X35/X7 not running. It seems a bit careless to not put this link in.

Personally I think these airshow buses are bit daft in my personal opinion, especially as pointed out the bus are simply just running existing routes but then extending on. I would run all services as normal. On Sunday I'd run the 35C as far as Houghton only with X35 running a special service between Peterlee-Sunderland (or even just as far as Houghton). With a special A1 bus running Interchange-Seaburn Park every 7/8 minutes or even every 5 minutes if there's demand.

It's a strange decision to say the least. Who actually pays for the airshow shuttles? I assume they're not ran commercially...

Not sure now, but in the not to recent past (maybe 5/6 years ago), we made our way to Sunderland using a Day Rover ticket. The shuttle from Park Lane wouldn't accept them - so we went to Shields for the day instead.

It is becoming a regular occurrance. Not sure if it was the same vehicle as was out on Saturday or a different one.

571 again. Was working the other board to what it was working on Saturday though.
May be able to get to Bishop tomorrow to see what's on the 18 in 571's absence!

There were at least two missing off the 18 on Saturday. 571 was obviously on the 71 and another one was over the pits at Picktree too.

It's only the past 3/4 years that they've accepted Buzzfare/Get Around tickets too. It was actually a very good decision by GNE, as they reacted to a lot of criticism they were getting from customers on Facebook for planning to not accept them.

RE: Go North East
Lambton Worm on the 8/78 cycle again today.

Will be on the 0802 78 from Sunderland, arriving Consett 0955.
Departing Consett 1000, arriving Sunderland 1147.
Departing Sunderland on the 8 at 1153, arriving Stanley 1311.

Subject to be replaced - I believe the one that was on yesterday was replaced on its final run of the day when bound for Sunderland before then making its return to Chester-le-Street.

RE: Go North East
"Northern" Lolyne and SPD on loan to Crook from Chester today.

An "OK Expressway" branded Solar is covering for 571 which is still at Chester (though I didn't see it today), while the SPD on loan to Crook is covering for 572 which is sitting spare in Bishop Auckland bus station.

I assume an "OK Expressway" branded Solar is out on X21s today, if a Lolyne has been sent to cover for one and the branded spare is out on OK1s too...?

I'm assuming that this is for the revised Coaster service Big Grin

If I was any good at photoshop I would have either adjusted the number plate to read 'Coaster1'; or replaced the Delorean with a souped-up MK2 National with displaying a 638 destination blind.Smile

RE: Go North East
The SPD I mentioned earlier later managed one run on the OK1 before failing at Middlesbrough. Been stuck there for about an hour and a half after she wet herself and an engineer from Chester should be getting there in about 15 mins (passed him driving a Northern Renown while I was on the X9 a little while ago).
Plenty of custom lost to Arriva's X66 for those who were only going to Darlo, but oh well!

RE: Go North East
Just looking through the new timetables and the colouring for the X9/X10 timetable is a very unusual colour, going for a purple rather than a dark pink it actually is. Also it quotes 'Every 30 Minutes Newcastle >> Stockton >> Middlesbrough' when the X9 doesn't serve Stockton High Street.

The OK1 suggests it's a 30 minute frequency all the way to Middlesbrough, rather than hourly. I noticed the interior branding while on several today.

Lambton Worm on the 8/78 for the third day in a row (who's going to shout at Chester's allocator for me?!)

At The Galleries about 5 mins ago bound for Sunderland.
RE: Go North East
The 34/34a had a Trident on yesterday evening when I saw it at Urpeth.
Wonder which Lime is off the road and why it's off the road?
RE: Go North East
Coincidence that I just mentioned the 885 the other day. Passed it this morning in Woodstone Village (for those of you not sure where that is, it is just before you hit Fencehouses Wink.)

Today, it was being operated by an ex-National Express Coach. On phone, so can't clarify 100% which one it was, but last three letters of reg plate was KMZ/MKZ (something along those lines anyway).

Believe it could be 4850? I passed a Lime yesterday while it was on road test, and off the top of my head I'd definitely say it was 4850.

Indeed the Lolyne stayed on all day, and perhaps worth noting that that
4862 was taken off and replaced by Vyking 3983l half way through the day.

On another note, 3964 has had her FestivalNE vinyls removed, and after being sanded down, should be repainted later today (depends on how much of a quick job they make of it)! 4960 has been repainted and I imagine she will be sent back later today. No sign of the next Coaster yet.
RE: Go North East
Lambton Worm on the 8 / 78 today is 4866 departed Chester le Street for Sunderland at 11.04.
Trident 3885 is on the Lambton Worm as a replacement for 4866.

572 and 3873 are on the 71 this morning (not exactly a matched pair).
RE: Go North East
Congestion playing hell in Sunderland just seen both X3/X36 running back to park lane together, traffic is bad at St Marys and at the winter gardens, some services aee running as 2's...

572 is becoming quite a regular on the 71 these last few days. It was working alongside
8289 Monday and yesterday - not sure about Saturday.

It was either 3885 or one its sisters on when I saw it yesterday on the 34 too.

Don't understand why 572 is on the 71 and them sending at least one SPD down to Bishop for the 18. It has me baffled. Anyone any ideas?

Not a clue, but I can confirm that 4850 has been feeling rather unwell since last Saturday. Mystery solved regarding the Lime! ;-)

Possibility of some spare MPD's from Washington going to Chester? For the 71?
RE: Go North East
"Red Arrows" branded Gemini 2 6006 is doing the rounds on the M2/M3 at the moment. Seen it early this morning, and again about 12 heading towards Heworth. At the same time, "Northern" branded President 6032(?) was working the X1.

RE: Go North East
Afore mentioned A1 roadworks start on Saturday.

The Northbound slip road for the A1 at the Angel will be closed so expect diversions for the X22, 937 and Arriva X24 (likely both through Lamesley which they both occasionally use anyway)

So we can probably rule out Birtley as a route for the extra X21's, unless there's a very silly driver on board

Update at 15.37 in Chester le Street, replacement bus on Lambton Worm is now Waggon Way 4986 assume that the Tident may have gone off for a school run.
The MPD running on the 71 is in fact 571 not sure if I made a type error this morning or if there has been another change?

It shocked me that you said 572 was being used on the 71 as opposed to 571 - she has been the one on there regularly from what I've seen recently.
