Does anyone know if the current Go north east spare vehicles which are supposed to be allocated to service X66 (mainly 4944, 4949, 4964 and 4966) will get transfered to another depot or will they stay at Riverside when the new Streetlites are in service?

Riverside keeps all 4 Solars, and 5332 is transferred to Washington as a spare for the 4.

Quite a while I would imagine if 5332 did transfer to Washington, quite rare to see a Solar on any of the above Services.

What I think will happen is the current Red kite Omnicities will go onto the Loop allowing the 8 solars to replace 8 renowns

Yeah. moving the Solars onto the toon link will maintain a consistent age throughout. There will still be More than 8 renowns in the fleet after their withdrawal.

I think a few solars may transfer to Percy Main to replace some dual door renowns

I think the best option would be to send the Eclipses to Percy Main for the 9, and 5247-5249 and 5274 could go to Riverside to make a consistent allocation on the Toon Link.

Then again, maybe the Toon Link will get new deckers?

I've never ever being on the Eclipses.... Do you think the 9 should be branded?

Although it would be nice to see a full Omnicity allocation on the Toonlink.


We still don't know what/if deckers have being ordered.... so anything could happen... although it would be nice for Citaro give some more hints...  (jking)

The Eclipses are pretty similar to Solars, but I think they are a bit better. I don't think the 9 will get branded, because then the Deptford ones would have to be branded too. Although it could happen - I liked the ''Cross Tyne'' branding on the SPDs.

- 5332 replaces a B10BLE at Riverside, as do the Solars 4944/4949/4966.

that livery was good til they put a South Tyne Vinals over the top of Cross Tyne logos

anyhow on a different note wonder when todays fortnightly NEB News will be available and what surprises await me and the rest of us

What I'll think will happen is the current Red kite (and 5234) Omnicities will transfer to Riverside for Loop services 93 and 94 allowing some renowns to be withdrawn, and then 4944, 4949, 4964 and 4966 replace 4 renowns at Riverside

Four blue StreetLites, some red and lime ones spotted at Heysham Docks. Couple of repaints. AD122 brand. 128 starts again.

They arrived sometime last week on the same day those pictures was posted.

Not sure if anymore of the Lime ones have being spotted though.
