Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2015

Not sure what 1753 was on today, but was seen leaving Middlesbrough around 1850.

It was posted on the GNE Facebook page that services around Cobalt were suffering delays of around 55 minutes or something, so may be connected.

Back out on 7s - one weekday board does the last trip on the 17a from Stockton at 1806.

Out of interest, who allocates the buses at the Alnwick outstation? Is there a set allocation, or does someone from Ashington go up each morning?
RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2015
It's been confirmed this morning that Arriva have reached an agreement to purchase the operations of Scarlet Band and the Dales & District arm of Procters Coaches. This will be absorbed into the Arriva NE operation although these operations will be kept separate much like the successful Yorkshire Tiger operation. A new brand will be revealed in due course, although services are expected to remain the same

Can anyone shed any light on the photo ANE posted on their Facebook page when the signed off today?

Something along the lines of "Soundtrack to your bus journey" including "Man Who Can't Be Moved, I Will Wait, Shut Up and Drive"

-- Response Below --

They might be trialling music on board the buses, but at Preston Bus they've trialled it and nobody likes it.

Here is a snippet from Buses Magazine, You Write titled "This 'music' is like listening to contravision";
"The 'music' forced on passengers is continuous local commercial radio: a mix of trashy pop music, advertisements and banter. It feels intrusive and unpleasant. At first I thought it was an anti-social yobbo. There is no escape for customers as it is played on both decks."

I had a look on the sheets and 1301 has been noted. I was told a few weeks ago that an "extended dart type bus" would displace a StreetLite for training.

The SAFC Optare - is it based at Belmont still or has it moved?
Passed it in Stockton the other day and wasn't sure what the deal was.

Look in the March thread, that's when they would have been delivered.

If you read the news which you are so eager to read every fortnight you would see the full list of fleet numbers in the first article...

I think everything is taking a battering today both loadings and traffic wise... Some of the 5s in Middlesbrough have been 15-30 late thanks toCargo Fleet Lane being backed up...
So glad I am off lol! Been for a run out mind, more on that in the outings & reviews thread later

(02 Apr 2015, 2:07 pm)Tommy_1581 wrote Sorry if its already been mentioned, 7610 is on the X12/X2. It's been MAX'd.

It was the first MAX Gemini to be refurbished and reenter service at Durham which was quite a while ago now. As Jimmi said, only 7619 needs to enter service now although the vehicle has an engine problem(??)
RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2015
Following on from discussions on late running Durham X2/12s, the other night I got a Durham one.Left M'bro on time, got to the Teesdale Campus on time, driver got out. Got back on and set off 5 mins after he was due. Couldn't see where he went, presumably for a fag. Got to Stockton High Street south end 4 minutes after he should have left.

I'm sure I read seized up engine or something like that on here which is why it hasn't been seen (or noted) as being back from MAX referb or back in service.

One 57 reg Lowlander has been on the X12/X2 each day I've seen it.
