Looking at the NEB fleet lists, Go North East's are 11.5m in length which is the same size as Arriva's.

Arriva's have 44 seats so I imagine it will be roughly the same amount of seats in GNE examples although I think the ones on the Drifter have 45 seats.

Theyll be the same Length as the Arriva ones and the examples on the Drifter, just fitted with Micro-Hybrid Techology, and seats 45 Passengers.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2015
Yeah, the the new streetlites are the same length as arrivas and the MAX examples used on the Drifter

But the X66 ones are not Micro-Hybrid. They will
be on the road in less than 24 hours.

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2015
What would GNE do if despite the new timings introduced around the Cobalt during the PM (Newcastle bound), buses were still getting stuck there for considerable amounts of time.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2015
Services 2/50/82 and 82A are once again using the Bus Stops at Lambton Village Centre after Temporarily being out of use due to Temporary Traffic Lights being in place, this was to manage the level of traffic passing through the Village Centre due to the closure of Cambrian Way, which is the perimeter road around the Estate which has now reopened following some form of roadworks being done, looks like ill be getting the Bus from the Centre again rather than directly outside my house when heading to Sunderland which was fantastic as it meant I could leave at the last minute and still catch the Bus, or id go down the Bottom of the Estate when going to The Galleries etc.

The main difference between the X66 and the remaining batch of 25 is the lack of Wi-Fi, Power Sockets and Next Stop Announcements on the former... All 29 are Micro-Hybrids.

571 and 572 both knackered yet again. 6041 broke down in Newcastle on Thursday again also.

Just looking at the leaflet for Coast and Country, half way down the leaflet where it says:

 Consett-Stanley-Beamish-Washington-Sunderland City Centre

Does this mean that the services will not be going into Sunderland Interchange same as the 2/2A?, or maybe since the 78 turns into an 8 and vice versa, the service may change number on Vine Place then continue to Fawcett Street, St Marys then route 8 towards Trimdon Street? and then vice versa coming in as a 8 then St Marys-John Street-Holmside-Green terrace then outward travel up Chester road on service 78?.

Park Lane Interchange will be getting knocked down at this rate if Go North East pull anymore Services out of there, and Holmeside and Fawcett Street are bad enough as it is without more Buses serving those Stops.

id hardly expect 'sunderland park lane' to be on the side of a bus if im completely honest.

The Limes just say "Sunderland", Just have to wait until GNE announces the changes.

There doesn't appear to be any timetable changes registered on VOSA (I think) so I don't think this will be happening, just imagine it will continue to terminate in Park Lane but they may have used "Sunderland City Centre" to make people think that it stops right in the heart of Sunderland rather than somewhere nowhere near anything in Sunderland.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2015
Earlier when I was on the X10 to Middlesbrough the police had just closed the Felling Bypass because of a collision between a GNE Wright Renown bus, working the 57, and a white hatchback. It didn't look too serious thankfully and there haven't been any fatalities but the front of the car was completely smashed and there was light damage to some side panelling on the bus. I hope everyone involved makes a full recovery.

I heard this rumour from a fellow bus enthusiast, Stanley, Chester Le Street and Washington depots are getting merged together into one brand new depot, I'm not sure if it's true or not

When Riverside was getting built there was rumours going around that Chester Le Street and Stanley was to be the next depots to be merged.

I don't think anything has being said about the next super depot for a while although i think it will happen sometime just not for a while.

They've been wanting to close Chester-le-Street depot since before I was born, according to family.

Weren't the old Park Lane and Philadelphia depots merged into Deptford, out of interest?

With it being over 100 years old, you would understand closing it. However, that said, it's got quite a historical purpose really (being the first depot in the company) and I'd like to see it become a transport museum.
