Go North East: 2014/15 Financial Year Order Predictions
(12 Apr 2015, 5:11 pm)Dan Now I think citaro5284 has answered this question before...
(12 Apr 2015, 5:08 pm)tyresmoke I guess speculation could say that as the 45/46 are getting new Streetlites then the 47 could get Streetdeck double decks to match....

(12 Apr 2015, 5:14 pm)Malarkey But the StreetDeck has a Daimler Engine, not a Cummins Engine, all Vehicles on Order for GNE have the latter Engine Type according to Citaro5284, which would therefore suggest that if Deckers are on Order for the 47 then they will be Enviro 400MMCs.

(12 Apr 2015, 5:17 pm)Dan Not agreeing or disagreeing with the speculation either way, but all of the bites of information citaro5284 gave previously referred to the Streetlite order.

There are some buses on order.
All of you will have photos of them in a few months.
Lets leave it at that.
(12 Apr 2015, 5:22 pm)Malarkey I specifically remember his post regarding the Cummins Engine Type, as I then listed all Vehicles which had said Engine Type to then narrow down what the Vehicles would be, at the time we had no idea what was on order and for what services other than the X66 iirc.

(12 Apr 2015, 5:28 pm)Dan Yes, the post is available here. Note the original post which stated some. The post certainly didn't say that each and every vehicle new in 2015 onwards would come with a Cummins engine.Best do some copying and pasting of Posts in this thread so we can continue on the conversation, without having to refer back to this Thread first Dan.
If we are to make any further guesses of vehicles which have been ordered as part of the 2014/15 financial year, could we do so in the appropriate thread?

I think that if GNE get any deckers this year, they'll go with ADL. The ADL E400 MMC seems a far more solid product than either the Wright Streetdeck or Volvo B5TL Gemini 3 and when it comes to replacing the big three a few years down the line, then they've either got the option to stick with the Dennis Trident 2 chassis and have the Cummins ISBe unit setup to give better performance on the rural Tyne Valley Roads and Washington Highway or, go for the Scania N230UD Chassis on the E400 MMC bodywork but with the exception of the TTX, then the former option would be more than adequate.
BTW, my perception of the ADL E400 and E400 MMC both on the Dennis Trident 2 chassis has changed and the reason why I was put off them initially for was because of 7501 - 7513 at Ashington Depot. The newer batch from 7514 upwards seem a better batch and I think that they'd fit in well in GNE's fleet as the maintenance is of a good standard and GNE usually purchase 1 spare for every 7-8 vehicles purchased now.
