And now to explain the previously mentioned fleet numbering:
As you can see, the 'Pronto' E400MMCs finish at 10981. The 10xxx series will be finished before this year's order of E400MMCs is completed. However, it has been decided to number the 'Smart Hybrid' examples for London in the 110xx series rather than carrying on with the 12xxx series. As such, this means that once the 10xxx series is full, standard E400MMCs will be numbered 111xx onwards.

I've made a small amendment now that the name for Plaxton's Double Decker body has been discovered - the Panorama. The demonstrator emerged from the Scarborough plant yesterday.

Confirmation in the 2017/2018 Financial Year Result Report on the Stagecoach Group PLC website - the 2018/19 order is for 170 vehicles, worth around £40m.

GMCA papers on their website for presentation to the  Bus sub-committee this coming Friday quote "Minimal investment is expected in 2018/9 from the three major operators". This must be a worry, given that the average age has deteriorated badly during 2017/8 and the BBC have stepped up their propoganda war against Buses in GM by grossly twisting IPPR North reports.

Apparently Newcastle is getting more cast-offs to see of the remaining 03, 53 and 54 plate ALX300s. Also apparently the 55 plate MANs are transferring down to Stockton. Can anyone confirm on this please?

Is there any update yet on the (approx) delivery dates of the diesel E400 MMCs? I'm guessing they will all be 68 reg. It looks like M&SL are taking advantage of the school hols to cascade E300s out before these MMCs arrive as replacements - suggesting the MMCs will arrive soon.

Chesterfield's 8 are supposedly due during September. At which point, their current 'Gold' Scania E400s will move onto the 50/50a/50b releasing standard-spec examples to work Chesterfield's share of the 77.

As for Gillmoss, they have taken a large number of deckers from other part of the empire - 14 Scania E400s displaced from South by the new E400MMCs on Coastliner, along with 8 of the former Wigan B9TLs (the only one missing is MX07BVF which is now with Tylers) which are temporarily in use at Gillmoss before moving to Chester (likely once the new MMCs arrive). On the Period 3 fleetcard, their E300 allocation has been reduced by 18 (from 65 down to 47) so that reduction is in line with the recent influx of deckers not ahead of the MMCs arriving.

Actually, another 7x E300s have left Gillmoss for West since pd3 FleetCard was published. However, there is now a question of what will happen to 19569-72 now that the Geminis are entering service.

Well, the first of Gillmoss' E400MMCs have been delivered - 11101, although it seems a mistake has been made when putting the vinyls on as the number applied is 10111, already used for a London E400.

The proposal is for 105 new Enviro400EV City-bodied BYD deckers at a total cost of £56M. £34.6M of the total cost is a Stagecoach Investment but the remaining cost depends on the Ultra-Low Emissions Bus Scheme recently announced by the Government.

Pending the next financial year, the most relevant thread for this is probably the "Bus Services Bill". The MEN reports - and I've had it confirmed by reliable sources - that this bid is subject to GMCA dropping plans for Franchising. You will also note that the Media Release details routes/areas where the buses will be deployed which, surprise, surprise, coincide with routes/areas where Stagecoach charge the lowest fares.
