Spotted this on Twitter after revealed that the pool on the Toon Tour was a joke (gutted tbh)

Although @ToonTour won't be getting a pool upgrade, it will be making a return from 17 April, along with a new service to Whitby and Scarborough, a new bus to
@Beamish_Museum, and AD122 is back from 12 April too.

More details here:

NEW Beamish Museum B1 service
Go North East will be introducing a new direct service to Beamish Museum from Newcastle, Gateshead and Chester-le-Street, making it even easier to get to the world-famous open-air museum.

The service will run on weekends, bank holidays and during school holidays from 17 April.

Journeys will leave Newcastle at 9.10am, 10.30am and 11.50am, with return journeys from Beamish Museum entrance at 2pm, 3.20pm and 4.40pm.

No advanced booking is required to use the bus, but if you want to attend the museum you will need to book a slot on Beamish Museum’s website.

Mods: You're free to move the thread to a new one, as the post also advertises the summer services returning.

Yes, you did read that title right!

We’re delighted to announce that Toon Tour will be returning this summer and due to the latest advancements in technology, we’ve been able to convert the upper-deck of our open-top tour bus into a pool.

We can’t wait to have you all on board soaking up the summer sun, taking in the sights and delights of Newcastle and Gateshead.

Timetable and route information will be announced soon, so keep checking back for full details.

From April 11th the majority of the service 1 and 2 minibus work is being amalgamated into the big bus rota as all services return to pre covid levels. Apart from a couple of mini buses to be retained for service 58 it seems the rest will be going the journey to be replaced by conventional buses from elsewhere. Any ideas where these will come from and what they will be?

Passed Saltmeadows earlier and I spotted what look to be a rear end of an ELC / Optare Olympus inside, not sure if it was a Scania or ADL chassis. Also noted was 5504 outside with fleetnames and numbers applied on its EYMS livery and 9054 heading out on a test run which then halted about 400 metres from the works.

(28 Mar 2021, 9:34 pm)Rapidsnap wrote I see from Dan's Twitter account that GNE have acquired a number of vehicles from various sources within the Go-Ahead Group.

So far it looks to be:
2x Volvo B7RLE / Wright Eclipse 2 from EYMS (prob 4 altogether given what I mentioned the other week).
1x Scania N94UB / ELC Esteem and 1x Scania N94UB Omnicity from Metrobus, Crawley. Worth noting that the Omnicity that has been brought up was one of the first of the type to enter service in the UK.
1x Volvo B7TL / ADL President from Go-Ahead London.

No doubt we be informed of the fleetnumber of these soon.

The 2 vehicles from Metrobus are loans to be used on school services only (on loan 'til the end of the school year apparently).
Omnicity 6513 will be 9054
Esteem 6615 will be 9055
