As Movember is now upon us as pointed out on the Off-Topic Board, I came up with an idea, a off competition judging our 'stache growing efforts, with the judging decided by our NEB brothers and sisters, just a one off thing.

My ugly big head is attached...I have had a headstart because the razor I shaved with is knacked and clogged up, so there is 2 days growth already...

My first pic is of me

Well it needs re-doing, it was only yesterday or the day before that I saw it dancing!!!

It has become an annual event for many and is a chance to raise awareness and money for mens cancers.

This will be my third year of joining in with the month long event and was just wondering if any other mo bro's are on the forum and if so, what sort of tache are you growing?

Hiya. I'll be back in the UK for a couple of weeks in mid/late November and just wonder if there is anything in the bus rally world happening then, particularly in the north-east. I appreciate it is probably not the best time of year for such events but anything with stalls or other collectables for sale would be of interest. I will be mobile with a hire car so maybe even Yorkshire or Southern Scotland.
I see on the showbus website that there is a collectors fair in Walsall on the 24th which may be do-able at a push but anything more local?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Dewsbury on the 17th may be a good option, not so far to go..

It is a debate done to death on another forum I post on, but thought I would bring it up here, what is peoples, opinion on the Leamside Line, should it be brought back to use...

My opinion is it should, especially for freight coming from Tyne Dock and as Nissan is close to the line that could become a way for moving it's gear, it would take traffic off the ECML and Durham Coast, it could even be opened up for passenger services between Tyneside and Teesside, and new Commuter Interchanges could be added at Washington and Durham(Belmont Park and Ride)...More localised services could be utilised for more direct services from Newcastle to Middlesbrough without having to goto Darlington or Hartlepool first, with the Stillington Branch being utilised to achieve this, it could also be a good diversion route for East Coast, XC, TPE or Northern when engineering is happening on the ECML or Durham Coast line...

what is you guys opinions

Yesterday i was made aware of plans to improve our railway in St Helens, something thats been on the decline for many years, the Idea is to have the following done:

New Train Station in Carr Mill (next to the east lancs)

Train Line between St Helens Central and St Helens Junction Re-Opened (most of this is still there with track on it lying dis-used!)

New Transport Hub that would connect St Helens Central with St Helens Junction, Earlstown and Newton (currently none of these stations have a direct Train to the Central Station and have not done for a number of years now!)

for more information please use the following links, all credit goes to the Green Party and i will help in any way i can to make sure this plan goes ahead!

http://www.simplygo.com/Gold-Standard

I have been thinking over the past few days about instead of having "Gold Standard" on just the Doors of some of GNE Fleet i.e. Citaros/Versas, why not have as a "Corporate Identity", much like Stagecoach Gold and Arriva Sapphire. Which GNE already have the Foundations in place, but in my opinion choose to cover it up in a Route Branding, for example Laser and Drifter to name a Few.

Now I am a Big of Route Branding on some Routes, as some do have Meaning and Links to the Regions History and Wildlife etc, The Red Kite and The Lambton Worm being great examples of that. Whereas some Brands are just completely pointless like FAB56/57 and Pronto which have zero meaning at all.

I know everybody has a different opinion on Route Branding which has been discussed in great detail on the Route Branding Thread. But could having the "Gold Standard" as a Corporate Identity be a Solution and having it run alongside the Northern Branding and the exception of a Few Brands like Red Kite as stated above.

I have came up with a Livery on PaperBus based on the Mercedes Citaro and Wright Gemini 2, I'll do a few more upon a Request i.e. Versa and Streetlite and I'll add them to my Flickr Page.

Wright Gemini 2

So what is everyone's opinions?
