Not sure if this is an event as such. There's a book on Northumbria Motor Services due to be released imminently. To coincide with the release, and launch of an associated website, Steve Johnson the author of the book and Tony Kennan will be doing a tour of the county on board 251. At each stop they will give a brief presentation and sign books and answer questions (though they aren't selling books on the day).
21st October
Berwick Railway Station 10:00 - 10:30
Alnwick Bus Station 11:15 - 11:45
Morpeth Bus Station 12:30 - 13:00
Blyth Bus Station 14:00 - 14:30
Newcastle Portland Terrace 15:15 - 16:00
Full details are on various facebook enthusiast groups.

So with the recent diversion in Camperdown taking place. And the buses 352/353/342/X7/X8 serving Great Lime Road next to alpha and the 37 serving the A189. I'm wondering has a bus route ever went along Great Lime Road where alpha is or is this the first time
But to make this thread a one to talk about. What other diversion have taken place that hasn't seen a bus route

I track my bus on the app which shows in real time where the bus is. Is this reliable because sometimes I cannot locate my bus and so just presume the service is not running. I ask because 3 times in last 2weeks my intended bus has not been showing on the app and I havent gone to the bus stop but waited for the next one .

I assume this is an errror, but can't work out if its bustimes or a mistake in the depot.

I thought seeing as it has come up in many threads, that it is an important discussion that I feel deserves it own thread.
The main SNE problems imo have arisen from the 'Stagecoach Expansion' and big PVR increase since covid with the 317, 685, 62 (extension), 38 (extension), 37 and soon to be 63 (extension which needs extra resource too). As well as having the same frequencies of routes (mostly). This has meant that increasingly the double decker routes which get allocated singles can get away with a single throughout the day but definitely not at peaks on any of em.
I have had some bad experiences as a passenger with overcrowding on buses the 62/63 being the worst.... Can anyone think of any ways this can be rectified without reducing the needed PVRs? I'm guessing more deckers acquired from elsewhere is the sensible option financially.
I'm interested to know you're thoughts and any experiences.

What is the earliest depature of a service in Newcastle/Gateshead on a M-F morning that isn't a night bus?

Is anyone doing this anymore? I luckily don't need to use buses today but it seems there's some thick job doing it today.
X7 Newcastle Departures: 17:15
X8 Newcastle Departures: 17:30, 18:05 (+20), 18:45
X9 Newcastle Departures: 17:53
I'm not an expert at this stuff but it's not rocket science to divert the 18:05 X8 onto the X7 and there's absolute no excuse using driving hours etc.
Absolute appalling service again. Unless things improve fast the X7/X8/X9 are doomed when the new railway comes along as they're unusable.
Least we have Gateshead Central Taxis who can actually run a reliable bus service with modern buses which is about as ironic as it can get I'm saying that.
