It looks like the DfT are not as forthcoming this time around with regards BRG funding ending in a few weeks time.
We've already seen Gannon and the bus operators claiming reductions of 15% if the funding isn't extended.
My question is....should BRG be extended in it's current form? Should it be scrapped altogether? Is their a realistic short to medium term alternative until a new regulatory system is in place, be that enhanced partnership or franchises.

Can anyone remember the 139/140 circular routes in Sunderland?
Remember when it was a joint operation with Sunderland busways and go ahead northern then Tyne and Wear ominibus and go Wear buses then redby under licence from Stagecoach and go north east.
We had some bizarre workings on this route?
However it was a handy route.
What year did go north east completely take over the routes?
I’m sure Sunderland busways did a scholars 139?
Anyone have any memories of this route or photos of the buses used?

Just noticed these bus station guides that are on the GNE website, example: https://images-gonortheast.passenger-web...202023.pdf
Showing which stands each Service uses, I think it’s GNE produced? But it includes all local bus services, not just GNE routes. Quite handy and they seem to have done them for most bus stations and interchanges including smaller ones like Winlaton and Hetton. Although they haven’t done a Seaham one! Nice touch.

The late shows are back for 2023 on the 19th & 20th of May
Stanley Travel will more than likely run the Friday service in Ouseburn & Stagecoach will run an open top service around Newcastle & Gateshead on the Saturday. I do wonder what Stagecoach will use cause I doubt the ALX400 will be allowed in Newcastle

A post on an enthusiasts' Facebook group has suggested that Ashington's E400MMCs are due to transfer out.
It would seem unlikely given the significant impact it would have on Ashington's ability to ensure CAZ compliance, but has anyone else heard this rumour and know if there's any substance in it?
It'll keep Storx happy, if it happens, I'm sure!

I found the Sheen 752 timetable (June 1987) in the archive which ran from Cornsay Village to Chester-Le-Street .
Does anyone remember this route, what vehicles were allocated, was it heavily used?
If it was reinstated today, would it be useful?

If anyone is interested , a toy fair is being held at Gateshead Stadium on Sunday 5th of February from 10am , there are plenty of stalls from vintage to modern toys , there is also a wide range of MODEL BUSES and trains to purchase there will also be a model railway layout and also a lot of transport memorabilia to purchase, I would highly recommend this.
