So, I just remembered that from my past experience this was quite a few years ago, but when leaving Gateshead the buses would never go under the tunnel to come out at John Dobson Street, what way did they used to go into New Bridge Street & Eldon Square?

One for the nostalgia…For the first time in 26 years Go Ahead will serve Worswick Street, albeit temporarily from Monday 8th August.
Market St East between JDS and Pilgrim, St will be closing temporarily as part of Pilgrim Quarter works and the N21, 51, 56, 57, 58 and 97 will set down only at a temporary stop next to the site of everyone’s favourite demolished bus station before rejoining Market St via lower Pilgrim St.

Posting in here as it applies to both GNE & Arriva.
But the number of services along the Coast Road after an NUFC evening kick off is simply not enough. Before March 2020, there was........
Arriva:
- 2x 306 per hour
- 2x 308 per hour
GNE:
- 1x 309 per hour
- 1x 310 per hour
- 2x 57 per hour (until Jan 2020)
- 1x 311 per hour (after Jan 2020)
Now it's only 4x services per hour in total (not including the 51)
Now fair enough, I wouldn't expect either operator to regularly run the levels they did pre-covid but on match nights, surely a DVSA registration for such events could be made for extra journeys even if for the timebeing (given driver shortages) sub-contracing to JH or Stanley.

I saw 5369 at Gateshead today on Route Learning for what I assume is the 56. I mean why use a branded bus, so I thought I would look at the 60 as I know there is one spare maybe a good use of a spare, well, there was 3 "replacement" buses on the 60, great use of branding.
However it did look like there was about 20 drivers on it, these July changes must have had serious driver rota changes, I know the X20 was going onto the Big BUs Rota (which I believe is the blue Rota)

Starting a thread here for all the times there is a cruise ship in the Port Of Tyne.
The shuttle runs every 30 minutes between Port Of Tyne near the DFDS landing & Tynemouth Metro (not this week due to the road closure)
Percy Main run the shuttle using Single deckers. It is usually two but a possible of three of them needed. If two ships are in at the same time. The shuttle buses up the count to 7 as was the case on Sunday
They are on tomorrow from 10am to 5pm between Port Of Tyne near DFDS landing & Tynemouth

So when the cancellations is over I got this idea from what Martjin posted about hopefully turn the network profitable hopefully these changes make it happen.
Could each depot, (Consett/Deptford/Riverside/Washington) have new routes which try for 1 year trial, for possible comerical ideas each new idea starts every 6 months or so, January/July/September changes is where it would take place to try and make a profitable new service.
And if they are losing a ridiculous amount of money they just get withdrawn after a couple of months, but for these to work, GNE need to drop leaflets around where they are thinking of a new route to see who would you it etc.

Wonder what depot will be taking these Streetdecks. Apparently its Riverside but cant really think what would need these high spec'd vehicles.

Does anyone have any info about service 24 diversion on Oakerside Drive, looks like Arriva doesn’t have any info or doesn’t know. Road closed on the Junction of Sunnyblunts and Oakerside Drive on the 21st this month for resurfacing
