Hi there, this is Rob Parsons, I'm the Northern Agenda Editor for Reach, which publishes the Newcastle Chronicle and Journal (and other titles in the North).
Sorry to post uninvited on this group but we're doing a survey of bus services across the North to inform an article next week - anyone who'd like to have a look and fill it in would be most welcome!
https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/nor...p-23108476
or if that doesn't work - https://data.reachplc.com/220453008360949
Thanks! Rob

Seen they've released the plans for this - https://www.transportnortheast.gov.uk/wp...rategy.pdf
Thank god the Consett line is dead and buried. Nothing really stupid as usual bar the Cobalt link which I don't see the point when the 19 is failing as it is. Nice to see the Doxford Park and West End lines are back on with a service running along the ECML via Dunston towards the Metro Centre.

I wonder when these final S&D vehicles will be branded up. suprised it was the Blues to be done last.
i also wonder which vehicles it will be, surely its 5323 to 5326 which will eliminate the last GNE 2016 corp livery.

I was looking through some of Steven Knight recent fleet updates from the last fortnight on Twitter and thought I would take note of them as their is some interesting additions in the Reserves at various depots likewise the has been a number interesting disposals, I say because some of these vehicles could of replaced much older vehicles which are still in the fleet across the country.
From looking at the lists below i'd happily take the B7RLE's from Fenstation to replace the Alexander ALX300's or those god awful ManViro 200's on some our local routes providing they've been upgraded to Euro 6.
I'd also take those Omnicity Double Decks at Cambridge to displace some of the older E400's in the Fleet, again providing they are Euro 6, however the vast majority of these will more than likely be used for the Common Wealth Games Fleet in Birmingham between 28/07/22 and 08/08/2022 however are a few months away from that and I doubt Stagecoach would want these vehicles sat doing nothing for 5 months.

Hello all,
new to this but was wondering if anyone has any information or can point me in the right direction to get some history on the above. We've recently saved it from the scrap yard or at least that's where we think it was heading and are in the process of lovingly restoring it and converting it into a fully functional mobile bar & hospitality area upstairs. we know it was operated by stagecoach as a sight seeing tour bus but that's about it.
it was pretty much complete when we bought it with the exception of the destination blind which we'd love to find an original?? any help or pointers would be great.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Simon & Faye

I wonder if anyone can clarify the dates of when the various GNE eras started
- When were the local brands introduced - Wear Buses, Coastline, Go Ahead Gateshead etc?
- When did they all get rebranded into the red/blue corporate livery as Go Gateshead, Go Northern etc. Was there ever a Go VFM Buses, or had that been discontinued by then?
- When did those names get phased out and combined as Go North East?
- When did the route branding era start?
