Have to say this is stunning and I like the fact that the companies corporate identity has also been included within it giving a more striking look.

Do the drivers need to turn them on, or is there just a massive issue with them I have been on 8 different ones none of them work, but they don't have any plugs either? Anyone know

Does anyone know which journeys the tour is on? I asked Arriva on Facebook and they just responded “unfortunately the sightseeing tour isn’t operating this year” although they are promoting it on Facebook

Would buses become more attractive to passengers, particularly car drivers, if the infrastructure was more tram-like? 

I'm thinking of a situation where the bus follows a main A-road directly into a town or city centre. 

Would it be better if existing stops were removed and new 'enhanced' stops were installed but at longer distances apart?

To my mind better, more substantial bus infrastructure and a quicker journey would certainly help make the bus a more attractive option. Although I can see that people with mobility issues may be disadvantaged as they would need to walk a bit further to get to the 'enhanced' stop. 

I'm wondering if the buses and fares along the route were kept exactly the same, if this infrastructure enhancement alone could encourage people to use the bus who would normally just drive both initially due to the investment and over the long term?

I’m interested to hear people’s thoughts why GNE has downgraded the 35 (now the Prince Bishops 20) over the years?

To me it was a flagship route which stood out against the competition from Stagecoach’s E1 E2 and E6.

I used to commute from South Shields to Sunderland everyday on the 35 and it was every 10 minutes, branded as the cross city Laser for commuters, and was marketed as a “Gold Standard” route using Citaros.

GNE replaced the Citaros with some Wrightbus horrors, ditched the Gold Standard service and then replaced the Laser 35 completely with the Prince Bishops 20. The frequency was decreased to every 15 minutes. 

To me it seems nonsensical. It annoyed me as an existing customer and the downgrades certainly wouldn’t attract new people to use the bus. Is there some logic that is escaping me?

A new open day is happening on the 28th of May. A part about what shall be happening

The Northern National Restoration Group will open Philadelphia Depot to the local community and supporters this May!

The depot will be open from 12:30pm until 4:30pm, 28th May 2022, during your visit you will learn about what the NNRG does, how we do it, and our future plans.

You will be able to see our vehicles as well as NNRG Shed Vehicles and some special guest vehicles up close and personal as well as see what has been completed during the winter months.

 This will include getting up and close to 4681, 3814, and 5217 who have had works done to them since last year. The day will also include name in lights (your name on destination screens), bus running and much more!

Darlington have brought 4654 out of retirement, with another few apparently due to follow.

Was, according to a post on the Busesnortheast FB page, due to go onto 2s this afternoon however an issue with the destination equipment prevented this.

6086 has been repainted into the new Pride livery and is parked at Riverside. I was sent this photo. Guess this is here for the open day on Sunday rather than going back to Deptford.

Just read on my local facebook page that due to low demand GNE are scrapping the 28a 28b and 29 Completely. Obviously you would hope Nexus would step in but isnt that nice of CNE possible leaving a village isolated!
