Afternoon all,
The parents are going to a wedding in May in Durham. Unfortunately this will require going via bus from Sunderland. This will mean 3 different bus companies.
Now I've had a look into tickets for them and it seems the cheapest option would be a family explorer. Surely I'm wrong?
Look forward to your reply. Unfortunately I'm at work that day or I would give them a lift!

Cheaper to get the TNE Day Saver for £7.50 each?

Then GNE 21, 50 or X21 to Durham
GNE Duo for 2 adults is £13
Please don't do this.
20 to Sunderland, 20/X20 to Durham, 6 to near the P&R (can't use P&R bus)
They're all much more frequent and it's only an extra £2 for two All Zone TNE tickets. Not worth the hassle messing around with the 78.

With storx, here. TNE day savers for £7.50 each, most convenient transport to park lane, 20 or X20 to Durham bus station then Arriva 6 to South road. GNE won’t really take them anywhere near, once in Durham

That's exactly what I needed to know. I had a feeling there was another ticket - but could I heck find it!!!

I did just that, gave a suggestion.
No malice meant, just not a route I'd take personally. Connecting to a 30 minute service is never fun if it goes wrong especially at somewhere like CLS which is a bit grim. Least going via Sunderland you'd go more frequent heading home.
Not much choice the other way as it's always the 6 whatever route you go, unless you want to pay a premium for the P&R. Not sure why it's not included in the tickets anyway tbh.
