Stagecoach North East: Service Suggestions

Stagecoach North East: Service Suggestions

RE: Stagecoach North East: Service Suggestions
In all fairness any stagecoach bus service has been shocking recently.Loads of cancellations.Lets take X47,since it is local to me,shocking service across the day to be honest ,i saw 2 buses running behind each other and a third infront by about 2 minutes on Monday,so that has to be shocking, left me waiting for about 30-40 minutes(i can’t remember how long lmao) in the freezing cold long time due to the massive gap in the service. This is not me being ungrateful but just shows that a lot of stagecoach's network needs improved upon immediately and they need to take action tbh
RE: Stagecoach North East: Service Suggestions
When i was growing up, Newcastle pretty much had a bus to everywhere, just shows how in 25 years a network can be decimated
Kind Regards

Not sure if this the right thread but...

1. Did the Newcastle 8 operate along Penn Street after Monarch Road?
2. Have any buses gone direct from Scotswood Road onto Neptune Road?
3. Have Greenlaw/Linbridge Road/The Burnside ever had a service?

1) yes that was the route iirc
2) not sure
3) I assume you mean Linbridge Drive in West Denton...Which is a yes the 84a that was a nexus contract for years served the streets in-between West Denton Way & A69. I think it was part of an old 84 stagecoach route before they withdrew it decades ago...

1) Yes
2) Yes. There was an 80 service which ran between Dumpling Hall and Newcastle which ran along Scotswood Road. It went somewhere else after Newcastle, perhaps Fawdon, but I can't remember.
3) Probably.
RE: Stagecoach North East: Service Suggestions
The 80 was between Kingston Park & Dumpling Hall via Fawdon, Gosforth, Jesmond, Newcastle, & Scotswood Rd Business Pk. Interworked with the 81 to/from Hollywood Ave via West Rd at Dumpling Hall.

Tbh, I just think there's too many 60's from Killingworth to Byker. Like how many people really want to go there? There's nothing really anything inbetween to serve either which warrants 8 BPH either. 3 BPH is more than enough as long as there's the extensions ie. the 61/64 there to cover the unique parts of the 62/63. The 37/38 is just a better service as it's quicker to Newcastle, serves a hospital on the way, and also goes further into Newcastle and gives a direct link to Central Station where people might actually want to be imo.

The 18 to Cramlington also makes sense as it gives a Cramlington / Burradon to or from Byker/Walker link. Okay there's probably not much demand there but there's zero demand for a bus to Newcastle via that route. The 37/38(Short)/38(Long)/38A is also a bit confusing atm as an understatement aswell.

Fastline buses a mess! The X78/79/82 pattern doesn’t work! There isn’t enough recovery time. The X78 needs to go back to 3 buses with adequate lay over time at Eldon square.
