Go North East: late runnings

I thini it is to do with vehicle shortages.
As someone who has to use consett services often, the service on the X45 especially is awful.
More often than not buses leave Consett late even if they've arrived on time.
The timetable is quite tight meaning they run late mostly.
Other night I had 6337 which got in late and left about 20 mins late. Arrived into Newcastle about 40 mins late.
The other services aren't so bad however reliability wise.

Noticed an X6 pull on to the A19 at Dalton Park, Peterlee bound this afternoon.
Despite there being stationary traffic as far as the eye could see and it being reported on the radio at least 15mins beforehand (3x car smash at Easington - police in attendance).

At what point do control get involved, notify drivers and propose a diversion? Do they keep an eye and ear on issues? Particularly as there's a huge chunk of road which would offer a viable alternative and runs alongside the A19.

Needless to say, the Solo had a decent load and that slip road isn't the most pleasant place to be on a warm afternoon.
Obviously there's implications for the passengers on-board, the driver and his hours and people waiting at the other end for a northbound service.

Shambles.

Comms like that are done via the ticket machine. Entirely possible the driver missed the notification or just didn't read or correctly understand the message.
At the same time, if it's possible, always a good idea to look onto the motorway/dual carriageway to gauge the traffic before comitting.

So not very effective then?

Looking at Bustimes (with the usual caveats) it was 679.

Not much use anymore, once you’re up there you’ve committed one way or another. Can’t just change your mind and turn around now.

Just continue straight on the spin round at the roundabout by the new houses.

If it's the X6, surely you'd have to cross the bridge first to get to Dalton Park anyway, so you would make your decision before you return backwards, unless it immediately happened but then this conversation is irrelevant anyway as there'd be nothing to report.

Same with the X10, in fact, since they come off there.

You could also make the argument, that the driver takes some initiative and contacts the control while at Dalton Park aswell, and asks what's wrong. If no-one bothers to report anything, then they simply just might not know.
