6376 & 6377 have been at Consett for a while now. This I'm sure will change once the changes take place.

Yes no doubt. Think 6376 went to consett not long after being in service at washington

As Dan mentioned in another thread, 6377 has moved to Consett for two reasons - the first being to cover for Streetdecks undergoing MOT, the second being the reduced need for it at Riverside with the temporary reduction of the X9/X10 into the hourly X10E.

No doubt 6084-86 will replace 6045-47 with 6043-48 then probably either going on the 25 or perhaps the new 47/47A. Obviously GNE should still have 6001, 6049, 6050, 6099, 6160 and 6377 available as Riverside decker spares if needed.

Actually 45-47 aren’t that bad considering their advanced mileage.it’s sometimes a bit of a lottery as too which ones are reliable and which ones aren’t.  

Transmission faults, overheating problems, eminox issues, take your pick, that’s alongside the more day to day problems such as coolant or air leaks, belts/alternators/etc.

None of these issues have been traditionally addressed by mid-life refreshes in the past, which on the whole have been concerned with making the outside and passenger areas ‘pretty’.

Did I see a post the other day confirming that the Tyne Valley Ten B9's have started to go for a refurbishment or I'm I making it up because I can't find the post....

Yeah I can remember seeing that. Loads of buses are undergoing re-furb no way most are them going to be done for sept.Maybe by the end of Novemeber.

Best to get them done over the holidays like

Ye, everything isn't going to be done until at least end of November but its the holidays so less buses are needed

The summer holidays are one of the few major opportunities each year to convince occasional leisure passengers to use the bus more regularly - if they have a pleasant experience on a day out in the summer, I'd say that would make them more likely to give the service another go either as part of their commute or on a weekend, for example. A negative experience on that summer day out, i.e an Omnidekka on the X21 as has been happening recently, or whatever is covering the TVT B9s, isn't going to bring them back.

Agree with this.
Operationaly, it may make perfect sense.
However, as you say - yor're going to get punters experiencing public transport and that experience could make or break future travel patterns.

So with the PVR being 15 now, does that mean 6084-85 will be done with 6086 perhaps getting an interior only refurb so it keeps the poppy livery?

I take it that could mean 6043-48 or 9056-61 (if bought) either ending up on the 47/47A then whatever left after that on the 25?
