No doubt 6084-86 will replace 6045-47 with 6043-48 then probably either going on the 25 or perhaps the new 47/47A. Obviously GNE should still have 6001, 6049, 6050, 6099, 6160 and 6377 available as Riverside decker spares if needed.
Actually 45-47 aren’t that bad considering their advanced mileage.it’s sometimes a bit of a lottery as too which ones are reliable and which ones aren’t. Â
Transmission faults, overheating problems, eminox issues, take your pick, that’s alongside the more day to day problems such as coolant or air leaks, belts/alternators/etc.
None of these issues have been traditionally addressed by mid-life refreshes in the past, which on the whole have been concerned with making the outside and passenger areas ‘pretty’.
