Have to get to Newcastle from Boldon tomorrow - car isn't an option due to parking charges. I can't cycle it either which would be the easiest option.

How reliable is the X34? Don't fancy risking the metro!

Always see it pritty much on time when driving the X24, abit a couple of minutes late here and there, the bus lane before heworth and the ability to use sunderland road instead of the bypass helps it out , probably alot more reliable than the metro.

Its usually pretty decent timing wise, and if its is late, its usually in single digits minutes late, its the Central Motorway that buggars it up at peak times, unfortunately its the only bus service that runs from Newcastle direct
