(27 Apr 2015, 10:28 am)pdiddy wrote It says 47 NEW buses .....

The scania omnideckers are 03 reg so ain't new.

How many streetlights are there altogether... plus 4 B9s.

29x Wright Streetlite Micro-Hybrid and 4x Volvo B9TL vehicles - a total of 33 confirmed new vehicles. A further 14 vehicles, bringing us to the 47 new vehicles quoted in the article, have also been ordered as part of the company's 2014/15 financial year, although neither the vehicle type nor the service(s) being upgraded have been confirmed on the public domain.

The second-hand Scania Omnidekka vehicles are not included in this statement regarding investment into new buses for obvious reasons - as you say, they're not new. These are extra vehicles which have been purchased, enabling the fleet age to be reduced even further, with older vehicles being withdrawn as a consequence.

Could be 14 Deckers for Crusader, Nah I think it will be East Durham.
RE: Go North East: 2014/15 Financial Year Order Predictions
If it was 14 buses and going on the Red Arrows, it would either mean a frequency decrease to every 12 minutes or, same as now with Washington swapping one of their B9s for 6099 or 6100 providing a PVR of 15 during the week.
RE: Go North East: 2014/15 Financial Year Order Predictions
Ok then, how about this:

- Does the route(s) operate through Gateshead?
- Is the bodywork built in Yorkshire?
- Is the chassis and engine made in Sweeden?

I don't think they will reduce the frequency of the X1, have u seen how busy it is from the Galleries to Newcastle, although certain times of the day can effect it...

I think they'll be for the Crusader...

That'd be great, not sure the 9/17 justify them though, and the 1 could do with double deckers.

Alternatively, they could be shared between Deptford and Chester Le Street

The question is, what would their purpose be there? Would they go into the spare fleet role like 5332 and 5337/38? If that was the case; they're not the oldest Citaro examples in the fleet (in comparison to the ''Blaydon Racers'' examples!, albeit by only a year) and I'm not sure they're ready for a back seat role yet. This itself is merely speculation, the ''Crusader'' seems to have had a lot of investment in recent years, be it newer vehicles, liveries etc., and I'm unsure if it justifies it as much as some other services do. For example, the ''East Durham'' network has some pretty worn out buses, and we could see another ''Venture''-like investment in those services, replacing the MPDs.

Not sure about Citaros at Chester-le-Street, as for which services they could be allocated to.

4 to Hexham for the X84/X85 + 1 spare
5 to Chester-Le-Street for 28/28A

3 Spares

13 Scania's to spare role to replace the B10's

OR

11 to Highwayman - 2 spare - 1 Deptford + 1 Riverside.

11 Scania's to replace the B10's.

The 47 new buses this year... 14 have still being kept secret from the public so were speculating where they may go... i know you like this sort of stuff Tongue

I would think the east durham network may get solo srs, the remaining mpds can be withdrawn. Ex Redby mpds NK55 RUV & RUW being retained and maybe seeing use on the AD122 or back up for the 700/701.

The Scanias at Hexham are newer ones 05/06. Citaros 2008 so no real benefit. Go North East may look to buy brand new buses for X84/X85 in the future.
RE: Go North East: 2014/15 Financial Year Order Predictions
Do you know one other route I think the 14 new vehicles could be for? I think it could be deckers for Citylink and it would then allow the Versas to go elsewhere or even upgrade the Crusader with the Mercs being split. I know Citylink 58 doesm't get high loads during the day but at peak times, it can get packed and I know that there was some concerns about capacity when the bendys were withdrawn.

My guess is gonna be Crusader (deckers) or East Durham (Solo Sr's).

Might not be for one route, might get spilt in to 2 different routes.
