Whitley Bay Bus Rally

RE: Whitley Bay Bus Rally

Thanks Robert. Smile

(22 Jun 2015, 7:00 pm)Tom wrote Yeah it does. Turns around at the Bandstand.

Cheers mate, hopefully a B7 will be allocated (I never thought I'd ever in my life say that) Smile

Not much chance of that on a Sunday. Though 6116/6117 can appear quite often.

I had it on the 9 last summer, I have never wanted to get off a bus so much in my life

(22 Jun 2015, 4:13 pm)LeeCalder wrote I'm quite looking forward to going to this rally also, although it might be a bit of a nightmare for me to get to.

I'm hoping Go North East bring a couple, John thinks they will. As well as this, I really do hope Arriva bring something as they are always some of the most welcoming at the rally with letting people onto the buses and having a play with the destination blinds etc. I hope one arsehole hasn't ruined it for everyone else at not only this rally but future rally's also.

Arriva will not be attending anymore rallies this year as the drivers don't want to risk their jobs anymore.  Think the next time Arriva will attend a rally is metrocenter 2016. Congratulations to the culprit. I would like to know why my post about it had been deleted.

The posts in question were deleted following a request from Arriva.

While investigations are underway, the company probably doesn't want enthusiasts speculating on what did or did not happen.

requires at least 3 buses either 27 or 88 to Jarrow then 9 to North Shields then 1 to Whitley Bay but there is a long way there thats metro from mine to Whitley Bay via the coast would take me an hour depending on travel but i will be going anyways
(22 Jun 2015, 6:59 pm)Davie wrote Does the 1 go near?
yes it does you only require 1 bus

1130 for me and that's via Blyth! That or leaving Ashington at 9pm the previous day!

I'll have to walk to Ashington to catch the X22 to be able to get a 308 to the Bandstand. 1hr 40mins...

However nice it would be to meet forum members at the rally, it would just be too much of a faff. I'm not going to be spending 1hr 10min on a refurb if I'm unlucky. I might try for the MetroCentre rally in 2016.

You should go. You'll only post in the 'What is annoying you' thread otherwise. Tongue

If I was to go and a lovely carriage turned up there will still be posts in the 'What's annoying you' thread. Or my opinions on Arriva's services will be expressed with various forum members if I can't connect to WiFi.   Wink Big Grin

What time do you think they will leave Bishop Auckland and where from as there is a train that gets to Bishop Auckland at 0810. If it's before that I can probably arrange for someone I know to give me a lift into Bishop or get a taxi.

I'm sure it can be arranged to meet the train and for you to get on at Station Bridge. I'll find out the exact times and I'll let you know

Bournemouth Gardens situated on the Seafront in the Car Park. Where the 1 terminates if that is any help.
